Visited as part of a large group. The restaurant was full but the service was efficient.
The food was excellent, and they managed to cater to a variety of tastes. I would recommend the beef carpaccio.
Good atmosphere too.
a unique place in central Amsterdam. next to everything but at the same time away from everything. Such effect is created by the quality of service, the atmosphere, and the food that provoques you a sensation of being away, even more...in other time!
Highly recommend Van Speyk. Dutch and French cuisine perfectly mixed for an excellent experience. Service was top notch and everything we tried was excellent. We had the scallops, salad, duck confit, tuna and a bottle of Sancerre. Delicious!
We waited over an hour for dinner with absolutely no explanation from our server. We ordered a beef dish she recommended - very bland, lukewarm, not exceptional at all. The dessert was ok, but not worth the long uber rider to get there. Pretty place,...More
We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel down the street from this restaurant. It was recommended to us by the concierge. What a great recommendation... we ended up going 3 times in 10 days.

This was my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. French cuisine for the most part and excellent. A little pricey, but worth it. We all loved our meals there. Everything was cooked perfectly. The service was slow, but I’ve come to think service is just very slow...More
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
I hope you find it, It's widely advertised on the internet restaurant spots. They provided fine dining, a very nice dining room, great service a nice wine selection and a great meal. I don't know any way I can recommend it... More
