Just had a lovely meal at this very nice bar. The cuisine is pub food and also some typical dutch (winter) dishes. I had the stamppot zuurkool which I had not eaten for a couple of years and it was exactly how i remember and hoped it would be - absolutely gorgeous I will be back tomorrow!

Charming waitstaff. Delicious goat cheese salad. Jazz music on the stereo, not too loud. On a busy street, close to the central train station but not overrun with rowdy people. For a woman dining alone, it felt warm, safe and friendly.

We were looking for bars in a Dutch neighborhood which would feel less touristy. Our hostess pointed is towards this area. I think it was a great find. It is devoid of the hordes of tourists and has a homely cafe atmosphere. The bar had good beers and wines and great food. The prices are reasonable. Rgds Ajay

We ate twice at this lovely restaurant. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful and the home cooked food was excellent! The price was good for the standard of food and it was nice to find traditional Dutch stews being served.

We were staying in the area and walked past when looking for a place to eat on a Sunday night. There are tables outside and in. We sat in a window table. We were greeted warmly and served well throughout the evening by a male and female. The menu is mostly local type dishes. My friend had the trout special... More

We found this restaurant thanks to a friend advice and we weren't dissapointed. First the boss is a very nice person, smiling, also trying to talk in french :). Concerning dishes, nothing is wrong, simple but tasty, I took a stew(beef) and it looked like to a grandma meal. There is a good beer list very affordable (like the dishes).... More

Neighborhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
