I lived in Thailand for four years and have since moved to the Netherlands. This is my weekly treat (as I miss my Thai food.) The food is delicious and authentically Thai. The portion sizes are generous and the price is excellent.

I was transported back to bangkok with the food from Pheun. I cannot wait till I return to try some more dishes on this menu. Loved the whole fried fish with sweet and sour sauce. Very authentic!

Don"t be put off by the outside appearance as the food quality and taste is of the highest standard. The Thai curry dishes and the chicken satay starters were particularly good and 1 member of our party of 6 commented that the egg fried rice and noodles were the best she had ever tasted! A must visit restaurant if you... More

This simple Thai restaurant offers Chang beer, fresh ingredients and authentic flavours. The interior is basic but the open kitchen creates a home cooked feel and the service is warm and friendly. Choose chicken and prawns over beef... but be warned that the prawn count can cause arguments.

11 of us visited Pheun Thai on New Year's Day and we all agree that it's an absolute must when visiting Amsterdam! The best Thai food we've eaten since we visited Thailand 2 years ago. Particularly enjoyed the shrimp soup for the starter! Really lovely, welcoming staff, too.

The service was great and the food authentic. We had menu no 21 (beef red curry). You have try the tom ka gai soup, very tasty! And spring rolls! The prices were normal.

The food is outstanding, really! (As well as the service.) Try nr 19; a lovely Massaman curry (chicken or meat), nr 27; a superb shrimp with fresh mango, fresh and a bit spicy. Their vegeterian food is good as well. Enjoy!

We LOVED this place! The thai food was seriously the best we've ever had. Visited this restaurant three nights in a row because of the good quality of the food and the staffs service towards us. If we ever come back to Amsterdam this is definitely a place we will come back to!

Thank filippatl

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
