The service was great and the food authentic. We had menu no 21 (beef red curry). You have try the tom ka gai soup, very tasty! And spring rolls! The prices were normal.

The food is outstanding, really! (As well as the service.) Try nr 19; a lovely Massaman curry (chicken or meat), nr 27; a superb shrimp with fresh mango, fresh and a bit spicy. Their vegeterian food is good as well. Enjoy!

Best Massaman curry I ever had. Delicious and genuine flavors. Great Prawns with mango. Very reasonably prices. The best thai I had for many years. I can really recomend it.

We LOVED this place! The thai food was seriously the best we've ever had. Visited this restaurant three nights in a row because of the good quality of the food and the staffs service towards us. If we ever come back to Amsterdam this is definitely a place we will come back to!

Loved it. Lived up to the reviews in every way. Price is a little bit high, but it's worth it. Ambiance is so-so as others have said. The food was lovely, though, and the service was great, as well. I requested a dish off the menu and it was made just for me, so I really appreciate that. I highly... More

The restaurant is rather small and unassuming; the owner is also the cook. She is from Thailand and very friendly and courteous; she also has a great memory- she remembers what my favorite dishes are and the same with other family members! The Tom Kha Khai (coconut milk soup) is really REALLY good- among the best I've had outside of... More

We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive. The food excellent and we would go back again. The amount of food for the cost was very good.

Like many Asian restaurants, Pheun Thai isn't much to look at: simple interior with images of Thailand, portrait of a young King Bhumibol, and a few deities. What is different from most is the open kitchen in the back. And what's unique is the lady chef in the kitchen, because she cooks amazing food for the whole place, all by... More

Quiet place on a Thursday night, wonderful staff, fantastic food! A steady flow of takeout locals, a good sign. Heartily recommend!

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
