I made reservations in advance, after reading the great reviews on TripAdvisor. I was welcomed by name and we were led to a gorgeous little table outside. The evening was fantastic and Chloe guided us through the short but tasty menu. She started us with a lovely spread of little treats and took care of us like family. Dinner was... More

The restaurant is on a little spot on the west side of Amsterdam. The hostess was extremely friendly and helped us a lot (since we didn't speak Dutch). The food was first class and the portions were very generous! The price was great for us students too! Would definitely go back!

My wife and I ate here based on previous reviews. A cosy restaurant in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood. Good selection of food and drinks as well as some excellent specials. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Can't fault it.

No surprise, it's just the restaurant brought into the Jordaan with a more informal setting but with the same taste, most of the same courses and, above all, exactly the same courtesy and brightness. An exquisite staff from the owner to each member of the team, you can feel at home from the second time you go there.

This bistro was just right! Neighborhood feel, friendly professional service, great menu, consistently good and reasonably priced. Such a nice compact space offering spots at the bar, small tables inside, and group tables outside. Flowers candles and great menu. Everything was good but the hamburger was decadent! Something for everyone at the table.

To get a table at this place you need to make a reservation quite in advance, there are about 6 or 7 tables, "the venue is small", but this may be the reason of its success, personalized attention is not common through Europe this days, but this fact is out shined by the great flavor of the food, which is... We went to Vlaming eten & drinken to celebrate my Wife's birthday while in Amsterdam and had a fantastic experience. Cleo, Bob & Frans run an excellent family restaurant and treated us like family. Cleo greeted us with champagne and then suggested we start with the appetizer platter. It was delicious with fresh and local meats, cheeses, a soup and... More

Incredible food, great atmosphere, good people. I can't visit Amsterdam without visiting this restaurant! I always leave satisfied and wanting to come back. There is something for everyone on the menu, and the chef is very willing to work with any dietary restrictions. Definitely get the family recipe lemon cello!

Had a great messy burger with a nice glass of wine. Was served by two of the nicest waitresses I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. The place is cozy and warm and is a great spot for a nice bite to eat alone, with friends or with a loved one. Highly recommend it.

Authentic Brasserie experience! Friendly, helpful staff and wonderful food. The chef hits the mark with all his plates - the right amount of flame, the right cooked temperature of the meats and duck, and the right amount of sauce to let his fine cooking shine and the flavors of the meat, fish and poultry stand on their own. The experience... More

Description
A family owned (father Frans & son Bob) bistro where we serve nice dishes with a good quality - price relation in a friendly atmosphere. Like in "brasserie Vlaming" we serve here also the "worldfamous" (anyway in Amsterdam) Sticky Toffee Pie.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
