Were here 24:th of august 2016. We ordered a steak and the salmon with starter in form of fried shrimps. The food was great with a perfect done steak (medium rare) and really tasteful. The salmon was a bit dry but still very good. Booth the steak and the salmon came in large portion so one didn't need to leave... More

Came to Amsterdam with two friends for five nights and stumbled across St James Gate in Rembrandtplein. Great atmosphere, food and service. Shout out to staff member Lewis(thanks for the recommendation of nearby pubs) and the lovely Spanish waiter whose name we did not catch. Highly recommend! We'll be back!!

I had lunch in this restaurant/pub today with a colleague, whilst in Amsterdam on business. We both had the fish and chips which was described as the best fish and chips in Amsterdam. Service was initially slow and erratic but courteous (eventually). When the fish and chips arrived it consisted of mediocre frozen chips accompanied by a "salad" of one... More

We found the menu the most acceptable of several perused. So we gave it a go. The service was friendly and prompt. The meals were of good restaurant quality and reasonably priced. We enjoyed it so much we returned.

Our waiter came quickly, he was very attentive. The choice of food was as good for vegetarians as for meat eaters. The service was excellent and prompt.

My wife and me were there during the huge gay pride festival in Amsterdam beginning of August 2016. Amazing, how peaceful and happy hundreds of thousands of people can be together, having party and fun. Right at the Rembrandplein, in the middle of action, there is this Irish Pub. Stuff is friendly, we had some beer and onion rings, recommendable.... More

St James's Gate is a large Irish Pub authentically and tastefully decorated and perfect for large groups of people. With its large bar and spacious seating area in the front, a very cosy, warm and intimate area in the back, St James's Gate appeals to many. Despite being relatively new St James's Gate has a good clientel mainly due to the amiable staff who are predominantly Irish. Drinking here you'll have a wide selection of Irish beers and whiskeys and with the resident Irish chef you'll get absolutely delicious food and before you know it you'll be a regular customer to St James's Gate.
