Visited for evening meal in June 2019. The menu is quite small which is good. The chicken was excellent and beer selection was also pretty good. Prices were what you would expect for this district of Amsterdam. The guy who served us was very friendly....More

Cafe Gruter was looking like a nice place to have a dinner and drink something; however, after we took our table the waiter did not come to greet even if he saw us. We have eye contact and ask him for ordering and he continued...More

We are currently sitting outside, and really want to order another beer and some snacks. We have tried to attract the attention of the waiters for about thirty minutes, with no luck. Maybe they will see this review and come outside to help us.

Nice stop near the museum place to have a short break, especially on a sunny afternoon. The staff is friendly, the ambience so-so, but you will find nice snacks and decent wines or beers here.

We came here a few times as it was close to where we were staying in Amsterdam. Friendly service by the staff and drinks were reasonably priced. We didn’t have any food so are unable to comment.

A quaint place for a brunch. The eggs on toast was delicious as were the fries. Free WiFi and friendly servers fluent in English.
