Very good, a bit contemporary food with reasonable prices. I would recommend it very much. There are also tables by the river, and the outlook to the canal is simply beautiful.

What a lovely little place - tucked away down some steps and with a great atmosphere, surrounded by old cupboards and rows of bottles and eating under subdued lighting. The food's exceptional, unusual and excellent value: very unusually we both chose the same starter and main, and they were both delicious. We had the strawberries and am asparagus salad to... More

Myself and my boyfriend visited Amsterdam and sought inspiration where to dine. After consulting Tripadvisor, we settled on de Struisvogel. It seemed well-priced, well-located and we liked the look of the menu. Upon arrival, we were greeted friendly and seated promptly at our table. The restaurant is located at Keizersgratch, and like many restaurants along Amsterdam's Grachten, the restaurant is... More

Even thought not in the most commercial spot, the place has a rather touristic approach to the dishes and service. A bit distant despite a friendly space. Mixed feelings. Price - performance it's okayish.

If you're looking for somewhere to dine after the Anne Frank Museum, or anywhere nearby, this is such a welcoming little place, even for dining alone as I was. You can book a table, but keep in mind the latest time you can book is 9:30! I recommend a little over €40 per diner for your budget, but even with... More

My wife found this online and I'm so glad we went there. Good central location within the canal belt with lovely staff. Limited but wonderful menu - the strawberry salad starter was fantastic! Didn't have the Ostrich but it's a specialty so I understand! Great value, great food. What more do you need?

We were in Amsterdam for five nights about a week ago. Stumbled upon this restaurant which looked quaint and also had outside tables next to a canal. I had a beautiful strawberry and goats cheese salad followed by a lamb stew and a chocolate apple crumble. It is one of the best meals I have had for ages. I eat... More

We eat here as a last minute choice as it was close to our hotel, The Dylan. It was an excellent restaurant with limited but extremely good menu. I had the veal, ostrich and apple crumble washed down with some fantastic mint tea. The food was top notch, the only slight downer was the wine. We chose a Chenin blanch... More

I met a almost local friend with ties to the restaurant here. He had never eaten here and wanted to try it. I had beef carpaccio and ostrich. It was fantastic. Better than beef. For Amsterdam it was quite inexpensive considering the quality. Highly recommend.

It is divine. Great food, nice staff and venue. The menu offers enough options to satisfy everyone in the group offering ostrich (get it!), fish, vegetarian options. You pick your three courses from a list of about 5 options each and I had a hard time deciding because they were all so tempting. Try to get in early cause there... More
