We only popped in for coffee on the heated terrace, double shot as our cafeïne levels were low. Fine no excellent service, nice spot, free water on the side, quiet something in Dutch cafés. Would try the menu next time, we were just too early for lunch. Inside is great too!

Very pleased with the breakfast we had here. Both chose the Dutch Breakfast and were not disappointed. Thoughtfully presented on tiered plate and enough to eat.

This was near our hotel and looked inviting (and out of the rain) so we went in for the breakfast and returned that night for dinner. The food was amazing, staff very friendly and courteous, and we loved the atmosphere. Good prices.

Felt welcomed moment I arrived to the café. I liked their "warm", classic decor - the same since many years. This is an upscale café in an upscale district serving mostly people who live in the area with the occasional visitor from nearby hotels. Service was good. And the fried eggs with bacon and gluten free bread were delicious. Large... More

We were a walk in on a Wednesday evening. About half of the tables were occupied. Upon entering and placing our initial order, it seemed the staff was caring. However, for some reason this changed after the food order was taken. The staff was doing the minimum that was expected of them. The food was not bad, but compared to... More

I had the grilled salmon with veggies and fries, which was very good. The service was on the cool side, but okay. Including coffee and drinks the bill was 30 euros, which for that expensive neighborhood is not bad.

If you go to Amsterdam you need to stop in this fabulous restaurant. Our plates were really really good. The restaurant is next to Vondelpark. Waiters are really polite. We will go back for sure ! Prices are ok

Delicious food and comfortable atmosphere. Heated patio area. I had the vegetarian bitterballen and they were excellent.

Exclusive Brasserie de Joffers is designed in the Parisian style and offers a seasonally changing menu based mainly on organic and sustainably produced ingredients. The cuisine is gourmet in style and is well complemented by the fantastic wine list. Brasserie de Joffers is also one of very few restaurants in Amsterdam where you can have an English-style afternoon tea.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
