My mother and I visited this cafe yesterday, just before going to the Rijksmuseum. Bumped into this cafe, and glad we did. It has a particular old-time look on the inside with old chairs, lamps and German beverages and food (Brecht-related, yes). Laid back atmosphere....More

I went there today with a friend of mine. The café itself is from the outside quite unimpressive and you would easily walk by without noticing but it has a veery cozy and relaxing atmosphere inside. All the chairs are comfy armchairs or couches, there...More

Quirky cosy little cafe with a unique decor. Great selection of beers and hot and cold drinks - some good specials and regular options. All reasonably priced. Hard to get a seat on a damp March afternoon.

Eclectic. Messy. Friendly staff. Victorian furniture that you drag around. Home-made piping hot pretzels. Love this place.

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this little gem while cycling through the city. Quirky, friendly and as with everywhere in Amsterdam, excellent coffee.

Very cute and cosy cafe. Good range of soft drinks also, such as the elderflower drink. Hygge. Highly recommend, especially in the cold.

Great for lunch between museum stops. If you want it quirky then Cafe Brecht’s Berlin living room in the 1940s style could be for you. Good coffee and great soup. Excellent spot for refuelling between museum stops.
