We ate at this restaurant, and sat outside, on a Saturday night, with family and friends. The restaurant was busy even at 7 p.m. The waitress was helpful and pleasant. The food was individually prepared with a delicate blend of spices and natural ingredients. The flavours of the foods were distinct and not covered up by heavy sauces. Everything was... More

Because we didn't know what to order, we left it to the creativity of the chefs. We were surprised by all the wonderful flavours and the good service. The restaurant makes local Dutch food special by adding different twists to it. It makes you rethink all the traditional dishes we have in the Netherlands. The service was great. The waiters and... More

I can't say that I've been to every great restaurant in Amsterdam, but I've been to plenty of mediocre restaurants in Amsterdam. Sure, Amsterdam is famous with tourists for many reasons, but restaurants has never been one of those reasons. But it looks like that has been changing and Wilde Zwijnen is one of the game-changers. The Food: Modern Dutch... More

Right, we went with a group of people (about 8-10) and so there was no choice other than 'meat/fish/vegetarian'. This was OK for us (we eat just about everything) but won't suit everyone who eats here - in fact I ended up swapping some of my fish for vegetarian. That is perhaps the only downside to what otherwise is a... More

Local, neighborhood joint with delicious food. Order their 'secret menu' 3 or 4 courses selected by the chef with accompanying wines, if you wish. Ingredients are local and the food is creative. Great spot away from the tourist spots

This restaurant made the best meal I have had in Holland. We ordered the 3 course chef's choice so we didn't know what to expect... what came out of the kitchen was incredible. The food was perfect, the setting is very good and the staff were kind and informative. I would definately recommend for the price (two of us for... More

Outside of tourist areas, we enjoyed a fine lunch at this casual restaurant. Cooking is focused on local ingredients, creatively prepared with just the right level of complexity. Recommended.

My husband and I went to the restaurant after a recommendation. It was a busy evening and we had 1 3/4 hour to eat before the next guests. Waiters walking back and forth but nobody paid any attention to us. So it took 30 minutes before we could order a drink and received a menu. Food was good quality. But... More

I booked a table after being recommended De Wilde Zwijnen by a friend. I planned a night in Amsterdam for my husband's birthday and it was the best part of our stay. I also work in a restaurant in Brussels and I tend to pay close attention to service and they have a great team. The place was pacted and... More

We choose the chefs tasting menu, 4 courses and a great bottle of a Del Duero Ribera primitivo. We came out at just over 100 euro! What a great price for such exceptional food. Every dish was well prepared and presented tastefully. The desert was delicious too. The service was a bit slow on our night but they were very... More
