As we were in the museum quarter a look at the restaurant ratings for places nearby indicated Levant as a good choice. We were not disappointed. The owner-host is a sweet man who did everything possible to provide us with a great experience. As we...did not have a reservation we could not get a table downstairs on the canal; but as this can be chilly and windy it turned out not to be our best choice (though the views are wonderful!). (If you want such a table make reservations days ahead!) We had two starters, eggplant and yogurt, and a pate of vegatables with chile, both tasting quite delicious on bread. For mains we had the duck breast over cooked fruit, and the minced lamb. Both excellent. Finally we shared some baklava and ice cream for dessert. All this was washed down with a very nice and well-priced Turkish red wine. For those who have not had Turkish wine you may be surprised. We had many Turkish wines while in Turkey some years ago and the quality astonished us. Anyway, a three hour dinner. I wish we could come back soon but we live quite a ways away!More

I think Amsterdam is one of the places that comes to mind when it comes to very good Turkish taste. Both the staff and the owner are very friendly and polite. As a Turkish person, I can say that with every appetizer I ate, I...was like in Turkey. 22 years old restaurant. Make sure to try it. Note: It is also recommended to sit in the terrace.More

Food was outstanding, we got a few tappa dishes (eggplant and octopus and artichoke) and echo had an entree. I had the sea bass bulibase, which was light bit flavorful. This was my first experience with turkish food and I would highly recomend. The service was...outstanding as well.More

The food was excellent and service was friendly. My starter was a lamb ravioli on yoghurt with a pistachio sauce and I had duck breast on a bed of stewed dry fruit for my main, which was cooked perfectly.

Our first visit and it did not disappoint. We were offered a selection of Turkish appetizers all of which were tasty. The wine was Turkish and it was a little vinegary for our liking but drinkable nonetheless. I had duck with stewed dried fruit and...apricot seeds and the dish was fine. Octopus was as on the menu as an appetizer and fortunately none of us ordered it. We should not be eating that animal! The acoustics of the place meant that it was very noisy and conversation was hard work as a result. Aside from my friends and I, most of the guests appeared to be hip Turkish nationals which boosted the restaurant’s authenticity.More

Had an absolutely great meal here with friends. They all had meat dishes but I had the while Sea Bream which was amazingly cooked. This went so well with their house white wine, overall would recommend a visit at least once on your trip if...you're there for at least a few days.More

Excellent food and service at this Turkish restaurant near the Rijksmuseum. Table was overlooking a canal. I was surprised at how good the Turkish house wine was.

What can I say, high-class Turkish cuisine, at an affordable price. However, perhaps a better explanation of meze appetizer prices would be needed. For the rest, the undisputed quality of the food, especially the fish, in a very particular location for a gallant dinner, a...stone's throw from the Museumplein.More

First trip to this restaurant, and it was an off the cuff walk in on a Saturday night. Restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. Decor is elegantly set, and creates a nice mood. Food and wine was really good. The braised lamb was...really tender, and full of flavour. The sea bass was also cooked really nice, and not at all dry. Service was also good, really attentive and courteous. Price value was also good. 2 main courses, bottle of wine and desert came in at under €100. Really worth it considering the quality of the food. Will definitely return and changed my previous expectations of Turkish food!More

Such an elegant restaurant for dinner. They have respresented Turkish cuisine very well. All starters were fresh and yummy. You can find varieties of Turkish raki here. We preferred Beylerbeyi raki as usual. After all good experience, the check was disappointing. Especially, to see Turkish...coffees in the bill, didn’t fit Turkish hospitality. Overall, prices were high.More

An elegant place to have dinner with your colleagues. Here you should not go for any type of cuisine but Turkish - taste only traditional starters, main dishes, and drinks like Uzo. Pleasant lighting disposes everyone for good talks. And if you want fresh air...or a cigarette, use a balcony at the back of the house with tables and a river view!More

First time in this resto and consider it a real discovery. Great choice of mezzes (actually like tapas), very tasty. And afterwards very nice grilled fish, and turkish duck breast. We would go there again! And certainly very friendly service.
