This was another of the places we stopped for a quick drink on the way back to the hotel. After sitting down at a table, we had to wait a long time for any service. We kept seeing a guy walking back and forth every...More

My wife and I stopped in Hoopman's several times during our recent visit to Amsterdam. We enjoyed the beers and I appreciated the Redbreast whiskey! The bartender was a woman from Northern Ireland who had a great sense of humor and was a lot of...More

We wanted to grab some beers with friends, but the service was just horrible. It took forever to take our order and it wasn't even that crowded. So, basically, we were waiting for a really long time just to get like two beers. Also when...More

Great place to sit and watch the world go by. Beer is good, Irish bitter, lagers and european beers. Food was good and enough. Nice shelter and heaters when the rain comes. Staff were great, attentive, friendly and helpful.

Went here for lunch. The service was good and everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered the meatball sandwich, Irish steak and beef and Guinness.

Visited here after a meal, on Kings Night (26 April) Service was slightly slow to begin with but did improve as the evening went on. Beer not badly priced, although not a fan of Bavaria beer, normally upsets me, but on this occasions, I was...More

Looks like a tourist trap but hey, the place is not that bad. I enjoyed drinks here more than once in my three days in Amsterdam. They had a bunch of ciders available and I tried a few from New Zealand that were fantastic. We...More

So arriving in Amsterdam late Friday evening we needed somewhere close to our hotel. As a party of ten, we did not know if this would cause a problem. However, Hoopman had been suggested to one of our party. Good choice. Food excellent, as was...More

Wide range of beers. Service is good. Decoration is nice. I think it is a good spot for lunch. We had beef and fish and chips. Not perfect but tasty :)

Description
Finding an Irish pub in the centre of Amsterdam as true as Hoopman is a difficult task. Hoopman offers a broad selection of Irish whiskeys, stouts and draughts. As well as Irish drinks, Hoopman offers a great selection of pub grub. Above all our Irish staff will always give you a feeling like you are at home. Hoopman is situated on Het Leidseplein in the bustling centre of Amsterdam where you will find that Hoopman serves as a warm and cosy haven from the busy streets. In the winter you can take shelter for a warm drink inside and in the summer you can refresh yourself with a cool drink on our terrace. Hoopman organizes a ton of events over the year. We always show all main sport events on our screen, from the 6 nations' rugby to the Champions league's soccer. Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated every year with a big party where we have Irish dancers to perform traditional dances throughout the evening. Hoopman is always decorated for special days, on Halloween everything is covered in webs and for Christmas we are covered in lights and surrounded by Christmas trees. Hoopman is sure to give you a good feeling: whether you are Irish or not, our staff will certainly give you a warm Irish welcome to Amsterdam!
