I've been coming here for lunch on every annual trip to Amsterdam for many years. It's not the cosiest restaurant decor-wise, but compares well with those London Hong Kong places, on food, portion size, and approachability of the staff. If you're familiar with the "Soho Brusque" model of service in London, the Wing Kee is a refreshing change.

My wife and I had a dinner there and ordered Hong Kong style "siu mei" which included assorted BBQ pork + Chicken + Roast pork, and also ordered pan fired vegetable together with soup rice noodle. We are really like it and no regret to have it. If you like transitional Hong Kong style food, here is the right place... More

Visited on New Years day 2017 for lunch. We ordered what we thought would be enough food for four persons based on UK portion sizes but when the food arrived we were astounded at the portion sizes and to be fair half what we ordered would have been plenty for lunch. The King Do ribs were particularly delicious as was... More

We were looking for somewhere that did traditional roast meats so spotted this weekend place as we favour those restaurants that put their ducks and pork on show in the window. Our confidence was boosted by Chinese groups already eating and heading in. We went for plain rice with two roast meats each (belly pork charsui chicken and duck) and... More

We tried their Chinese/Cantonese meats - duck, roast pork - it's good. The Yang Chow fried rice and wontons with soup were delicious. We would go back.

After 2 weeks of dining on a river cruise we were delighted to find an authentic Cantonese style local Chinese restaurant. Don't expect great service but the food is good and reasonable for Amsterdam.

Went to this place first time a year ago when our local friend took us there and we were impressed then. So today we decided to go there again as we are visit Amsterdam again. The portion sizes are huge. Food tastes amazing- this really shows in the amount of people coming in whilst we were there. At one point... More

First of all, the service was very bad, the waitress was rushing us to order and was very rude, their english level is not very good swell so we did not ordered the way we wanted because she could not answer our questions. The pork and duck are actually good but it is average compared to what others offer, but... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
