I went with a friend and decided to have a drink, and this place was just in front of us, so it was quite spontaneous choice. I have to say that although the service was a bit slow (until they took our order and until we get our tea/coffee), the atmosphere in the place was very nice, and me and... More

Only that we were hungry we would have left. Service is rather slow and staff attitude is indifferent. Food is just ok. Pity as location is great.

George W.P.A is a very nice place to enjoy a real bistro experience. Nice interior that is intimate and spacious at the same time attracting the upper class of Amsterdam living in the centre. Food is very pure, simple and clean but good quality and also reasonably priced.

George W.P.A. is a well located, beautiful Bistro with very solid Bistro Classics. The attitude of the restaurant staff is however completely unacceptable. Apparently the success of that place has confused the staff. It was the second time in one month, that the same waiter, who seems to be the manager, treated us in a ridiculously arrogant manner that it... More

I've been here quite often the last couple of years, as well in the Zandvoort beach establishment of George!in general the food is always value for money and the atmosphere is fantastic! However today I've been very dissapointed not by the food (that was very good and tasty), however a female server with blond-white hair till the shoulders and wearing... More

On the terrasse outside, the service is horrible and very slow. When we asked several times to be served, the waiters didn't bother to look at us. They were rude and not respectful. The table was not clean with the dirty plates from the previous customers. When they brought the drinks we ordered first, the table was still not cleaned.... More

The waiters were slow and clumsy. The restaurant does not seem to really manage an orderly queue and, as soon as it looks like you are going away people are already at the table trying to be the next patrons there. Regarding the food, I did not like it too much. But the Caprese was objectively disappointing: half tomato with... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
