Food is okay, a bit pricey for what you get. Carpaccio was dry, no pesto or bread. The dessert was the best and I don't even like desserts. They are very accommodating timewise if you have a concert afterwards.

The place was a bit empty and there was construction outside but this was a very nice place. The meals we all enjoyed. Everything was tasty and well prepared. The service was good, although the waitress seemed a bit inexperienced. Had trouble splitting bill and the wines listed on the menu are not 'always' available so she just brought the... More

Located near Museumplein, this place serves great food. Since it is walking distance from Rijksmuseum, it is probably a good bet if you are around the vicinity. Food: Great. We had the mackerel tartare, beef carpaccio, and the pumpkin soup. All are great indeed. For the main dish, vegetarian pie was awesome. The sea bass was also fresh and tastes... More

We loved our experience at Bouf. Wonderful salads and wine and unfortunately we were too full to enjoy desserts. Nevada (our server, not the state) was gracious, fun and appreciative of our visit (Bouf, is unfortunately impacted by construction this summer on the street in front). Bouf is also a good value.

Bouf is just a short walk from many of the museums. The restaurant offers a good range of dishes and has a welcoming staff. The decor seems to be somewhat dated and on the evening we visited for dinner we were the only customers so we felt a distinct lack of atmosphere. The meal was fine but this isn't one... More

A very cute restaurant with a beautiful setting. I had a warm goat cheese sandwich with beetroot hummus and it was absolutely delicious. A must try.

We had dinner here with the worst service that we have come across ever in any restaurant anywhere. The food was fine when it finally arrived but having waited nearly two hours to eat the main course, the good was well gone from it. The prawn starter had a total of 3 prawns in it and was priced at €11..50.and... More

We were searching for a lunch spot near the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and were really pleased we found Bouf! The menu has a lot of choices (salads, sandwiches etc,) with very reasonable prices. More importantly, the food was excellent! There is also seating outside for warmer weather. Would highly recommend Bouf!

Went for a post-concert drink, turns out it's a favourite of the musicians so had a great atmosphere. Waitress got our drinks wrong but quickly righted the mistake. Was just want we wanted after the concert.

This restaurant was recommended by Hotel Fita. On both occasions the food was really good. The mackerel pate starter was excellent!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
