Visited with my Indonesian wife and our daughter. We were missing home style cooking. Even though the staff were well aware we were expecting the "real thing" the results were patchy some good stuff some not so. The Nasi Goreng was a particular disappointment. I really don't see why cooking the real thing should be any more difficult that producing... More

Good example of Indonesian food. A little expensive, but the portions were generous. Service was efficient and helpful.

We had an awful Indonesian 'rice table' dinner at this establishment. The food was tasteless, lacked any and all spiciness, and the ingredients were of poor quality. And it was not inexpensive. A good place to avoid. Save your money!

I would stay away from this place. We order 2 dishes and both appeared to be reheated from a microwave. What a waste of €40.

There are many places to get Indonesian food in Amsterdam, and we were not disappointed in the choice we made. It is right around the corner from the Best Western Apollo Museum Hotel. Of course, we had to try the Daging Rendang, "voted as the world's most delicious food by CNN Go." I can't imagine that there can be just... More

We were served a wide range of dishes, and shared. A lot of very tasty food, but slow service. Loos were down extremely steep stairs.

There are plenty of Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam, but I like this one best. It's nothing fancy, but the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Very nice staff. Reliably good food. Absolutely love the Daging Rendang (beef dish) - ordered on 3 consecutive visits and devoured it each time. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I had visited this restaurant in 2013 to have "rijsttafel" (rice-table), a Dutch variant of Indonesian food with lots of small dishes. At that time, this restaurant was not bad. On this visit, when I was alone, I was disappointed. The service was very slow. Though friendly, it was also inattentive. But perhaps the most disappointing was... More

Here you can still taste the authentic flavours of indonesia. We were surprised! a very small restaurant, maybe 7 tables, 2 very effective waiters buzzing around. Real Indonesian, not Europeanized. A typical Rijsttafel with at least 10 or little dishes. Quick service and a descent price. Go there and feel in Indonesia for a while

It is a shame that the reviews on here are so mixed as we enjoyed our time at this restaurant very much. We chose the 29euro rijsttafel as we felt that gourmet one would be too much. This option was perfect for two and the flavours of the soup and fruit amongst the well seasoned and proportined dishes were great.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
