Winkel 43 is located on the Noordermarkt. It's in the heart of the Jewish quarter the ‘Jordaan’, which is known for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Because of its privileged location you'll be able to enjoy your coffee or lunch on our terrace on sunny days all year round. Winkel opens early in the morning till late at night. In the area our homemade apple pie became a general well known delicacy. Therefore tasting a slice is considered a must.

Great apple pie!

Visited for a late breakfast but breakfast selection a bit limited. Had a panini which was nice but would have liked a bigger selection of breakfast dishes. The apple pie however was amazing. Probably the best I’ve had. The pastry was lovely, a mix between...pastry and biscuit base, not too sweet and not at all soggy. The apple was delicious, firm but not too much. Went back the following day just for the apple pie.More

The best apple pies full stop !

These were simply the best apple pies I’ve had. Dutch love their apple pies and this place is famous for it. They also serve a wide selection of other sandwiches and salads and have lovely kerb side seating and a second seating area in the...square, as well as inside. This seems to always be busy and it’s for good reason, the pie is just so good! About a 15 min walk from centraal or Dam sq but not on the tram route.More

Fabulous apple pie

We had a fantastic apple pie and coffees sat in a cosy seat outside the front of this quaint cafe. There is lots of outdoor seating and a pleasant indoor area. Service was friendly and efficient.

Nice spot to stop

Went to the Jordaan area for a nice walk and something to eat. Was a lovely day so sat outside. Had a club sandwhich and wine. Was very nice. It’s a nice quiet part of the city. It had the odd car driving past but...a very pleasant little place. If I was walking past again I would visit again. It has a very pleasant vibe to the place!More

Good apple pie

Apple pie was good.. nothing spectacular. Portion size was good as as I say it was a nice pie but the queue and dirty place didn’t really sway it for me.

Six middle-aged blokes go to Amsterdam - and started with the Apple Pie

We popped into Winkel 43 for a light lunch just before our canal boat tour and were recommended the Apple Pie. Well, it was awesome and is a meal in its own right. Enormous portion, very quick and friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

The best apple pie

Great place to sit and watch the world go by and have lovely food at the same time. We arrived mid morning and expected to queue but we were lucky to get a table outside. The toasted sandwiches were delicious and the famous apple pie...was amazing. The service was friendly and efficient.More

Average food with pigeons problem. Run

Do you like eating average food while being attacked by pigeons? This is the spot for you! I honestly don't know why this is so famous. The line is huge, the pie is not that great (I had it better by the museum platz) and...THERE ARE SO MANY FREAKING PIGEONS. They walk over plates, eat from the cutlery on the serving cart, walk over tables, fight over crumbs right by your plate and TRY AND SNATCH FOOD FROM PLATES WHILE PEOPLE ARE STILL EATING. It's repulsive. I imagine if the team would be so complacent if it was rats instead of pigeons. This place should be closed by sanitary authorities. Avoid at all costs.More

Gorgeous Apple Pie
