Hola amigos! We only accept card payments ONLY! Sorry, no cash. We were first located in the food hall at Magna Plaza and now have our taqueria between Leidseplein and Spegielgracht. Enjoy delicious, fresh, authentic with a modern twist Mexican food, a wide range of tequila, and margaritas in the heart of Amsterdam. The steak bowl was one of the best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had, so fresh tasting and very filling ! I am now gonna add pomegranate seeds to my own (attempts) at Mexican food ... two servers where very friendly also, singing away to music and always smiling, well done lads !... 100% gonna make this a must every time I’m in Amsterdam

Great little find in the ‘Magna Plaza’ food hall!
The guys are so enthusiastic about their food and are genuinely interested in your opinion of their food.
There is place to sit down and eat at the counter and watch the guys make food or you can pick a table.
The food is simply stunning! Juicy bavette steaks in tacos or in bowls. We also had a cheese quesadilla - so delicious!
Drinks can be chosen from one of the two bars in the food hall.
Would return for sure!

From the sum of previous reviews I would have to assume this place is very uneven, and unfortunately I was there at a bad time. While I was warned that our order (3 tacos, I quesadilla) could take 20 minutes, it ended up taking almost an hour and while they certainly got the billing right (over 30 euro without drinks!), the order was wrong (missing a taco). Worst of all, the food was nowhere near as good as expected (quesadilla burnt to a crisp), more like an attempt at "fusion" than real street food. Coming from Arizona and having lived in Mexico I have to say that if you're in Amsterdam there are countless better options.

Hi Herr, was hank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your visit was not up to expectations. I can imagine if you have to wait that long and there is also a missing item the whole experience is considered bad.
We have grown so hard in last few weeks it’s hard to keep up, we have a lot of work to do organization wise. Working on it as we speak. Because we always want our guests to have mind blowing experience.
I would like to offer you the same plate you had before on the house, and I am sure we will blow your mind with the quality! Hope you give us another chance.

Ok so to give some context. I’m Mexican and I just moved to Amsterdam and for me the lack of flavor in Dutch cuisine/ restaurants makes me sad. But then I found this place! Since corona started I don’t cook lunch at home anymore and just come and pick up my tacos/burritos. The place is very colorful & cute, the decoration is 100% authentic and you can tell the owners visit Mexico often. The people who work here are very good and fast. The have never messed up my order even when the place is crowded with tourists. You can order for extra salsas (which they make themselves 😋) just like in Mexico. You also get a lime with your taco and the tortillas are corn just like in Mexico. Burritos have flour tortilla and is a very good size. I have no tried the quesadillas but they look very good. The presentation of the food is very nice! I mostly get my food to go but I have seen how the decorate the plates. Also they never take too long to make your order which is great! The owners of the place really love Mexican food and culture and it shows!

Just ate here and need to say that for a chef who also was born in Central America I was floored with the quality and authenticity of what is being executed from such a small kitchen. Utilizing authentic Mexican corn tortillas from Tayairi (whose owner is Mexican) and serving spot on flavors these guys are really into something. The two owners clearly passionate about what they do (notwithstanding the long hours and trying times due to Covid) we were treated with such warmth and kindness. Please support our locals and relish in such wonderful Mexican fare. Well done guys!

The charming, passionate burrito I have had ever ate!
The first thing that appealed to me to this amazing, settled at the top floor of the city mall was the welcoming smile one of the chefs, and I didn't even start speaking with them.
the welcoming start was warm and after a few moments of hesitating, I approached to ask do they have anything for a vegan diet. Surprised was I when I got samples to eat to choose which one do I prefer.
Easy-going and very talented chefs start explaining what kind of ingredients they use. with explanations that everything is bought from locals farmers, bio food with high consideration to the environment. Young, passionate Michelin star award chefs I am wishing you a lot of success and hopefully see ya every Sunday on the best tacos in the Town!
p.s. decoration and details are 3rd best thing about tacos and tequila restaurant!

Amazing tacos!
The place should change the name for Tacos & Friends as you feel like visiting friends not a street food bar. Food amazing, tasty and beautifully presented. Together with my 3 girls we are in love with this place and we will come back for sure whenever in Amsterdam. We picked Taco for lunch and had dinner in one of the fancy Amsterdam restaurants later in the evening - my 8 year old asked if we can go to Taco for dinner next time and order everything what they have in menu instead of dining in 5* boring restaurant! :-) I agree with her and next time we will do exactly that! Be prepared we are coming!!! :-)

Amazing restaurant with a variety of delicious Mexican dishes. The ricebowl with chicken was very tasty and is a great alternative to your everyday lunch. The personnel are genuinely nice and talented, making you really feel at home. I will be back again soon!

We were really looking forward to coming here after reading all the great reviews but to be honest our experience was pretty poor. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time, we received our starter and mains before our drinks even arrived. We chased the staff 3 times for our drinks and saw people who arrived after us being served before us, we ended up having to flag down a waiter with our drinks as he was going around the restaurant taking our drinks to the wrong tables.
The restaurant was in unbearably hot so we also asked for some water for the table, we had to ask for this another 2 times after the cocktails finally arrived.
2 of us ordered the tortas and one had the tacos, we were very surprised when the food arrived how small the portion was in the tacos. We had the battered fish tacos and there was probably the equivalent of 1 fish finger in 3 tacos. Considering the tacos were one of the most expensive thing on the menu the portions were ridiculous. We really enjoyed the tortas and couldn’t fault those so if you do come here I’d recommend those.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry that your experience wasn't the way it was supposed to be! We think it is very important to provide a good service to our guests. There are indeed days when it is busier than usual and therefore it can take a little longer before you get your order on the table. We're sorry you had to wait so long for your drinks, that's not our intention.
As for the tacos, our portions are a standard portion and this is enough for most people. Of course you can order as many dishes as you want. We are happy to hear that you liked our tortas so much! We hope to see you again soon!

We try to celebrate a birthday of a friend there with a family and friends when we arrive there he said he couldn’t reserve the tables together so we had to eat separately .
At first it was not a big problem .
When everybody was already there waiting for the food not more than one hour he said we had to go on 15 minutes cause other group was waiting .
What everybody was disappointed cause we just had the first plates and we where waiting for the last one and he was saying that in 15 minutes we had to go .
For not say the food was not really good
And it is not real Mexican food .
The man that asked us for the drinks was really good but the boss …
At the same moment he was asking for the reviews the whole time it since like he was just interested in the reviews and the money that how the people feel there and make it comfortable .
Also asking for a tip …
Anyways the food wasn’t good and the deal with the boss was horrible when we already pay he kicked us all out saying the party is over go now and quickly
I don’t recommend this local even for work and eat if that’s how he treats the clients I don’t want to imagine how is with the people that work there .

Hola, We strongly disagree with this feedback!
The reason for that is as follows: we normally don't take on large groups in the weekend. In this case we made an exception under very clear agreements. You had a time slot from 15:00-18:00. Then you arrived late at 16:30 and that didn't work out. We told you that. Nevertheless we still tried to provide you a great experience in the impossible time slot....
We gave everyone a tequila on the house as a party present.
After that we had to ensist at 18:00 that the guests were arriving who booked a table, and you didn't mind them at all. They had to wait outside in the cold. We provided them with hundreds of euros of free drinks to compenstate (like in corona times we don't have it hard enough...) And eventually you left at 18:45, when I really had to say now it's enough.
Many of the guests who reserved left because you kept occupying their tables.
Bad communication, you don't respect agreements made, and worst of all you don't respect the other guests and employees of the restaurant. We give you a 0 star review as a guests, and please don't come back.

Overrrated! Portions too small!
Despite all that hype and the great appearance of the place we found it to be overrated. This is my third visit and I waited to see improvements before writing a review but not much has changed. The staff greeted us very nonchalantly, admittedly they seemed rushed off their feet but were not very organised and we frequently had to get their attention when they had forgotten things. When they did come they always seemed keen to upsell us to more food and drink which was rather irritating. So it seemed they’d been trained on that but not so much on consistent or warm service, which comes down to management. We ordered tacos, the price was as a main but the portion was like a starter and wasn’t that great! We had some cassava fries with it but at 9 euros were expensive for what they were and way too salty, presumably another way to get us to buy more drinks! The plus side is the buzzing atmosphere and the interior decoration but other than that it seems to be more style over substance! I’m sure real Mexicans would be surprised at the small portion sizes!

Something clearly went wrong in service and we want to apologize for that. We are currently training our staff and will definitely bring your arguments to the attention of the servers. Our restaurant concept is that you share all dishes with each other, hence the smaller portions. We do this so everyone can try different dishes together. This way you’re still able to satisfy your tastebuds! We hope you give us a chance at bettering your experience, and hope to see you soon!

We went here tonight - our last evening in Amsterdam and enjoyed a top notch, reasonably priced three course meal guided by some great recommendations from Denny (?). We do love Mexican but tend to stick to what we know but rather than our normal nachos we gave (and loved) the cassava fries with tequila mayo a try for starters.
We ate every morsel of the slow cooked beef tacos, and jackfruit burrito for mains - delicious! And we unexpectedly enjoyed the guacamole ice cream, as well as the spicy dark chocolate one.
Service was with a smile and an engaging chat, even though it did start getting busy while we were there. We loved the food, service, decor and cleanliness and can’t think of anything to find fault with. Our meal came to €55 which we thought was worth every penny! If we were ever to visit Amsterdam again we would be here like a shot and we will definitely recommend. Keep up the fabulous service- and please pass on our thanks to the kitchen for a fab meal!

Had a really tasty dinner at Tacos and Tequila. We ordered the steak quesadilla and steak Mexican bowl and loved it. Waiter was really helpful when we showed him a photo on trip advisor of what I fancied. Would go back!

It has been such a long time when i had real authentic taco’s, and this place was simply amazing. The food was good seasoned which is very important and it’s served in a cute display, which is a nice extra. The staff is also very polite! I’ll definitely visit again!
