Perched in pole position for visitors to the Rijks and the Van Gogh museums, Small Talk is a pastiche of English pubs, serving all-day breakfasts (much like, I suppose, English pubs seem to these days). But it is cramped, the seating is low, and half...More

We ate our first meal in Amsterdam at the Small Talk after visiting the Van Gogh museum. It looks like a typical British Pub restaurant and has outdoor seating as well as the main dining room and an upstairs. We were seated by the friendly...More

I ate the most delicious, perfect temperatured, onion soup on a rainy day. Just perfect! The dutch shrimp salad was also good.

We stopped in for dinner on our last night in Amsterdam as this pub was close to our hotel. Its a classic pub with that European pub ambiance, which we love. Our waiter seemed very brusque at first as we placed our orders. I ordered...More

Two of us got refuge from the rain in this place and were hoping to get some nice satay - what a great decision it was. We had the kipsate, soup and smoked salmon and were absolutely over the moon at the portion sizes. Enough...More

After all these years it's still the same.....and that in a positive sense! Every time I visit this sandwich shop ("Broodjes Zaak"), I order the same..... "Broodje" Cheese, "Broodje" Filet Americain" and "Broodje" Kroket, together with a glass of "Karnemelk" (Buttermilk").....and it always tastes perfect,...More

Five of us came here for breakfast before visiting the Rijksmuseum. We had coffees and croissants with jam in the upstairs sitting area which was up quite a steep stair. Service was efficient and friendly. All-in-all, just what we were looking for.

We had some trouble finding a place to eat on our first day in Amsterdam, having visited the truly excellent Rijksmuseum, when exiting the rear of the building onto the Museum Quarter - exiting the front of the museum and crossing the busy street (Stadhouderskade)...More

We went for breakfast one day, and then dinner the following day. Both times the staff were very nice and helpful, with a great sense of humor. The food was great and portion sizes just right. I'd go back again!
