Very tasty falafel, fresh salad with great sauces, especially the spicy ones. Nice owner who tried his best to speak English.

I love eating here. I live in Eindhoven but whenever I travel to Amsterdam I stop by this place. I would recommend you to go and try. The chef is friendly. Place is clean and tidy.

The food was really good and the couple who own it are great too! In the typical laid-back Dutch way they allow you to serve yourself, and encourage you on packing as much in as possible, even sharing hints and tips on stuffing techniques. The location of this place is great too, grab a falafel and walk to the adjacent... More

Good fallafel and delicious salads for a very affordable price. Located in the Pijp Next to the Albert Cuyp market. A must of you don t want to spend a lot but want to eat plenty. Lot s of bars in the direct vicinity to have an after diner beer.

Visited Sonny while on a weekend break to Amsterdam. Wow! What a lovely guy and the falafels are to die for. The key is the amazing and spicy sauces as well as the wonderful aubergine mash. I enjoyed it so much, I took my wife there for a second visit and she agreed. Best falafel and fries ever.

Sonny is the best falafel place in Amsterdam for sure. They make nice and generous portions, and you can even buy a sauces and hummus seperately. I will go back, quite often

Without a doubt, but I've eaten falafel in many other European cities, none of which can surpass the quality of the food made here - the key to which is the freshness of the salads and sauces. For 5.50 Euro it is possible to have here a splendid meal. Sonny and his wife are also very friendly - see the... More

I've been coming to Sonnie's for years. It's my favourite place to eat falafel. The food is excellent, the location is great. I don't recognize any critic about Sonnie and his partner as being unfriendly. They have Always been friendly. Busy, yes, unfriendly, never.

Thank Sylvia d

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
