Serious food and wine lovers, there won't be many places in Amsterdam that will top this dining experience. Go with the full monty as this place offers the full package. Inspired food, flamboyant but extremely proficient service, and the ambience is of a place requiring suit and tie but it is surprisingly casual in that way. Loved the chefs offerings,... More

From the moment we entered Le Restaurant, we received flawless service and sublime food and wine. The staff ( several of whom I understand are partners in the venture) were friendly, knowledgeable, and classically trained. The courses and accompanying wine were introduced by either one of the chefs or the maître d'hôtel, and without exception, everything was superb. Even after... More

So, michelin places need to deliver excellence in food, flawless service with the right balance of humour, respect and knowledge, but mostly they need to deliver something unique and challenging and tasty that you wont find else where. At le restaurant, all of these are delivered in abundance. The food was wonderful, the service was invisible yet utterly effective, yet... More

We booked a meal at le restaurant as part of our 30th wedding anniversary celebrations during a short break to amsterdam. I booked the table by e mail before leaving the uk and the correspondence by e mail was excellent confirming the booking and checking for allergies. On arrival the service and attention to detail was perfect. And the food... More

This was a fabulous experience from the minute we walked in the door, and very good value. The service was fun, excellent choice of house champagne and a good (not greedy) wine list. There is no choice but a succession of wonderful dishes followed at a good pace, each one delicious of its type. Do not miss this experience if... More

What a find.. This small comfortable and friendly restaurant was one of the highlights of my trip to Amsterdam. It had been recommended by a friend and I made the booking online. The restaurant is relaxed and very unassuming. The open kitchen ads a really nice atmosphere to the room and feels very welcoming. The front of house staff were... More

We had dinner with friends and it was fantastic. Food is possibly the best in Amsterdam and it is served with great wine in a friendly and passionate environment. Chef and maitre'd know what they're doing and doing it well. Even though we had a horrible group at the table behind us, we felt welcome, had a great dinner and... More

We had diner here in November and we enjoyed the food. Lots of variation and lots of different flavors. The service is ok not better or worse than an average restaurant where you would expect more. They are friendly but I recognize other comments, you sometimes get the feeling that your entering their house with their rules. Not my interpretation... More

We have been to Le Restaurant 3 times now and every time we get here we are just amazed how good and special this restaurant is. The food, the wine, the service, the atmosphere, everything is uniquely in balance, with a sense of modesty and simpleness which you do not see so often amongst restaurants with Michelin stars. The owners... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
