We ate here twice, it was so good. We had the fried eggs with ham and cheese, it was huge, 3 eggs, sandwiches underneath, a salad, and lots of cheese and ham. great value for 7 euros

Absolutely fantastic. Went by myself for lunch, and was not disappointed. I ate the goat cheese, honey and walnut sandwich. It was incredible. The service was fantastic (although chaotic) and the food delicious. Do not be intimidated by the small space or the uncertainty! The girls working are very sweet and helpful. Next time in Amsterdam, I'll be back! Also,... More

I travel to AMS frequently and even lived there for awhile. Bert's is one of my favorite spots to grab a delicious but inexpensive lunch. The place is tiny during winter but during warm months as all places, it spreads out onto the sidewalks. Nice family owned place. Delicious food!

Go here for breakfast or lunch. They have a great menu, casual atmosphere, good service and very reasonable prices. You can sit inside, outside in front of the restaurant or right next to the canal. Either way it's a great place for breakfast or lunch.

We had only one day in Amsterdam and we stopped by a hotel in the neighborhood and got a recommendation for a light lunch and we were on our way there when we saw this place and noticed it was small but full of people, mainly young people who looked like students. There were three of us, and we went... More

We were ready for a simple lunch and found Broodje Bert instead. It only seats 12, but the food is phenomenal. I had an 8€ omelette that covered the plate and included a salad and baguette. My wife had a hot ham and cheese served open-face which also included a salad. We wouldn't have gone in except for the other... More

Literally the best omelette I've ever had, came with a lovely salad and bread which was all delicious. Cheap and quick meal that was perfect for a break during a busy day sightseeing.

Cold day in December and craving comfort food. Ordered the ham, tomato, and cheese. My husband got the salami, tomato and cheese. They were both awesome and very filling and great for the price. The salad was nice... Mixture of greens, tomatoes, corn, and green herbs and was very nice. I was impressed with no cucumbers since I have a... More

First time visit here. Short wait at 10am sat morning but well worth it. Both had the Swiss omelette. Comes with a baguette and huge salad so no need to order anything else. Hands down best omelette I ever had. Just sorry I only found this place on my last day. Service is quick and friendly. Well worth the visit.

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
