Great food, great time, great staff! Get the mixed grill. You'll leave full and happy!

Dear guest, of course I'm glad that you think we serve the best steak of Europe, but that's not what we pretend ourselves. Our Black Angus steak indeed is great and good quality for the price we charge, but for some more money there're better steaks available in Amsterdam I suppose. It's however the whole atmosphere why our visitors like... More

Dined here 25th March and although slightly off the beaten track it is well worth the extra effort. We both thought the food outstanding and the service friendly and efficient, I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone and it deservedly has a fine reputation. Tried the home made limoncello, it was sublime!

Dear guest from Aberdeen, indeed our brasserie is located at the edge of the centre, almost Jordaan and not far from the Anne Frank house. The homemade Limoncello you mention is made from organic Sicilian lemons: also one of my favorites!! Thanks for taking time to write this kind review!! Best regards, Frans Vlaming More

We went to Vlaming on the third day of our long week-end in Amsterdam: the other two days we experienced some of the most rated restaurants in this beatiful town with a very poor impression. Vlaming was a pleasant surprise: small restaurant with a friendly atmosphere, not loud even on saturdy night, accurate service and, first of all, excellent food. The regular... More

Dear guest from Napoli, I must say that last Saturday night we were more than fully booked so maybe everybody was concentrating on their dishes and therefor it was not so loud :-)) You're right, all soups, sauces, fries. etc are made fresh every day. I'm glad that you agree to our quality - price relation, we try to keep... More

I booked the restaurant for our group of ten in advance by email which was easy and replied to promptly. We arrived and the table we had was perfect, right near the kitchen and a table with a lot of space. The food and wine were great, I had two starters instead of a starter and a main and that... Dear visitor, you're right: last Sunday we didn't expect it would be so busy, but when your group arrived the restaurant was completly full. Fortunately I was in our bistro, not far from the brasserie, and could come over to help. Hopefully most of the stress was gone after that and you enjoyed your stay with us. End of January... More

Food was very good. i had steak and my partner duck. not a big piece of meat but delicious. the french fries were just frozen chips and nothing special for four euros a bowl. dessert was pricey at 7 euros for a sticky toffey pudding which was nice but not outstanding. service was absolutely excellent up until we were about... Dear visitor, thank you for taking time to write a review. Concerning the "frozen" fries I have to say that we make these ourselves fresh every day, so I don't understand what might have gone wrong with your portion. I'm sorry you were not impressed by our Sticky Toffee Pie, which is cheered by most of our other guests. I'll... More

Ok. 80th birthday meal for my Mum in Law. Top Rating on TA. Expectations runnning high. You get the picture.... So off we go. Excellent confirmation of resevation when we booked in advance - do book, as otherwise you won't get a table. Wow!! This reads like a novel... Thank you for this kind and extensive review. You're right, from now on we will check how the guest wants his pork cooked: we like it best when it's still rose and juicy. But there is no disputing about tastes. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you back... More

Hubby and I chose to visit here after reading reviews on trip advisor and prebooked a table whilst still in England. Pros: we had a shared starter for two. As I have a shellfish allergy they swapped around some of the dishes for ones I could eat but still giving hubby a taste of shellfish which he loves. Our second... More

Dear guest from England, thank you for your constructive criticism. It indeed sometimes happens that we work together with a temporary waiter who unfortunately, at the beginning of the evening, is not yet fully aware of all details of the specials of the day. We write these for that matter on the mirror in English & Dutch. I hope you... More

After reading mainly top reviews of this restaurant, my expectations were high for my first visit to Brasserie Vlaming - unfortunately, my high expectations were not completely met. Dear guest, you're absolutely right: especially in the weekends we normally have at least 3 waiters.
