Lovely, welcoming staff - warm and personable with a great sense of humour and lovely patter -very caring and wanting to please. The food was lovely - simple fish (salmon) with carrots and roast potatoes - perfectly cooked - a delight! Could eat it again!

That this place is so highly rated. The food is wonderful and the staff is great. This is a real find; a small intimate restaurant where you can actually talk to people that you are dining with without shouting. Great place. Deserves the best rating.

Amsterdam has 100's of restaurants, some of them "tourist traps", overpriced and not necessarily such high quality. Vlaming is an exception. The service is fantastic, and the quality of the food is very good, with a fair price too. Although we went as a family, thanks to the "cellar" type feeling, and the dim lighting, and the candles on the... More

Recommended by acquaintances and they were absolutely right on about this being an excellent restaurant. The stuffed avocado, duck and sea bass were perfectly done Try the "world famous" sticky toffee pie. Nice place with comfortable chairs.

Had a 3-course dinner. Everything was great from the beginning, loving the specialities of the day. Had the best creamy pea soup ever! Very reasonably priced wines also. The service was great, both the waitresses took some time to discuss about the portions, they seemed to know what they were serving! Nice small talk in every way! This was our... More

There are several types of five stars: this one is truly special. A wonderful location (ok, not the only one in a city full of bridges and canals) a good choice in menu, excellent meat, great dessert. The main difference though is in the human side, Natalie was everything that you can ask from someone who sits in a restaurant:... More

Spent our second night in Amsterdam dining at Restaurant Vlaming. Again, extremely convenient to the Hotel Toren. Had reservations through the hotel and were seated immediately. Wonderful ambience in the interior and a great staff--very courteous. Everyone speaks English in Amsterdam--very helpful. Among the 6 of us had the carpaccio/rib eye/duck breast/and the boneless spare ribs. Everything was prepared perfectly.... More

We took some new friends with us on this occasion to our favourite restaurant in Amsterdam and they loved it as much as we do. The wine, the food and the amazing homemade Limoncello, everything was 100% perfect as always at Brasserie Vlaming. Thanks and see you again sometime soon.

Been here once in a while in my three year stay in Amsterdam. The sister restaurant at Lindengracht is good too. Tried the tuna, duck and other seasonal menu before. Homemade truffle cream chocolate is good too. Service is always good and friendly. Restaurant is small but cosy. Food is consistently good. Reasonable price. Good variety of good wines. A... More
