There are some outstanding vegan restaurants in Amsterdam, this one is certainly good, but not in the top five for me.
The drinks menu is very limited. The food we had was nice, but not great and felt like something we could have easily made ourselves at home.
On the other hand, this place is much more reasonably priced than other vegan eateries in the city, so it is each time their own.

We stopped in for an early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I'm not vegan (my dinning companion was) but the food was tasty and you won't miss the meat.
We shared the wild mushroom fondutta and the aubergine dip to start and both were excellent. Kimchi fried rice and the peanut butter curry followed and both were good, we enjoyed a nice but reasonably priced bottle of French white wine and both agreed we would go back again sometime.

I came to Netherlands to visit friends for a wedding and heard about this vegan restaurant from a friend. It is firstly a convenient and easy walk from the center and we got to sit outside. The staff were excellent, friendly, attentive and prompt (also spoke English perfectly for any tourists). The menu was complete and not lacking in any way. It had your appetizers, a few entrees and desserts. Not feeling overwhlemed by choice. Each also had a succint description of the dish providing mystery and yet enough detail to anticipate the deliciousness that followed. We had the vegan ribs (not made from an actual vegan) and wow they are tasty. The richness of the 'meat' was on point. It was juicy as well and the sauce added the perfect flavour. We also had the the sticky thai meatballs which again were amazing and closed my eyes, could be a perfect actual meatball. Other things to try that were excellent in quality, price, portion and taste were the Chorizo, Thai peanut curry bowl and Ben Ben noodles. I come from Toronto (a place also full of vegan restaurants) and nothing compares to Soil. So far Soil would be at the top of my list by a corn field of distance from other vegan restaurants in terms of price, quality , atmosphere and flavour.

With SOIL still being open for takeaway I decided to give it a go and boy, it did not disappoint!
Between me and my housemates we shared the peanut butter curry, green curry and the kimchi bowl. Absolutely delicious food with incredible flavours, and great portion sizes for the very reasonable prices.
We also treated ourselves to a raw snickers bar which is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend for takeout during this uncertain time, support local!

We made the trip to Soil after reading about it on Google. A few minutes walk from the nearest tram stop in an unassuming street.
We reserved a table online and we're glad we did as it was full by the time we left.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Menu was mix of burgers, curries and bowls all vegan.
We sampled a fair few dishes and would recommend the very tasty peanut curry and the burgers washed down with some beer.
Well worth the trip and reasonably priced. Would visit again.

My wife and I (both vegan) visited the restaurant for a dinner not having read any reviews beforehand. It has an unassuming but cool atmosphere with a small library of plant-based and other interesting books. Also on display are a number of their pickles and spice.
The dishes on their small winter/fall menu were all clearly creatively and carefully selected to provide optimal health and flavour, We shared the “ribs" smothered in a rich BBQ sauce as a starter. We have sampled many seitan ribs in the past and this is one of the better in terms of flavour and texture. They could have been slightly firmer though to give a more authentic ribs eating experience.
For mains, I ordered the Ben Ben Noodles with a creamy sesame sauce, sticky meatballs, pak soy, crispy chilli oil, scallions and pickles. It was really delicious, rich and indulgent. My wife ordered the Peanut Butter Curry with smoked tofu, pumpkin, celeriac, carrot, parsnip, slaw, peanuts, coriander and white rice. She really enjoyed the dish, and the smoked tofu was particularly tasty.
We shared the baked cheesecake for dessert which we both commented was one of the best vegan cheesecakes that we have eaten.
Service was helpful, friendly and fast. A delightful experience overall

This vegan/vegetarian restaurant is relatively new. Rather dull ambiance, no plants etc. Only english spoken. The menu is ok but not spectacular. Far too much guinoa in the bowl and soup was luke warm. Second time curcuma latte no spoon etc etc. Kimchi burger was very spicy. Service was not very efficient and slow. Only 30 min paid parking outside allowed.

If you’re looking for a place to eat delicious vegan food in Amsterdam, this is the perfect location. We had the udon noodles with vegan meatballs and can highly recommend them. Staff was also very friendly, great atmosphere!

Amsterdam is a paradise for the vegan food. We visited many Vegan restaurants during our stay in in the city with my girlfriend and Soil was undoubtedly the best. Extremely delicious and healthy options . Especially the ramen and the tofu with curry made us cry of joy!

It has been a while since I wanted to try out this place. And I was not disappointed. I came there with my mother (not vegan) and she fully enjoyed her meal (as much as I did!). She went for the Ben ben noodles which where delicious (beware of the level of spiciness) while I went for the umami-rich Miso salad.
We then shared a Cheesy-cake with expresso and Chai latte.
Between warm-bowls, salads and burgers, the menu is quite original.
Only thing which was a bit less to my taste is the fact that the place (although not full at lunch time) was quite noisy. Thanksfully, didn't make the food less enjoyable.

What can I say, makes me want to move to Amsterdam. We ordered the vegan ribs and i was the best vegan meat alternative I have ever eaten, the kimchi fried rice had some much flavour with each bite, the burger was delicious and the homemade vegan snicker was outrageous and tasted just like the real thing.
Will visit everytime we are back in the area, only recommendation is that you will need to book as it is quite small and gets very busy.

Amsterdam has numerous vegan restaurants and vegan offerings at many “ non-vegan” establishments, so a vegan traveler has more options here than in many European cities. Would recommend another looking for other vegan options over Soil. Entrees were just okay. The yucca fries ( starter) were actually the highlight of the meal. Wait service was poor. Would not go back or recommend.

We dined as a group of 4 (3 meat eaters, 1 vegetarian), everything was exceptional. We shared Brave Balls and Tacos to start then each had a different burger. To finish we shared the homemade snickers. The waiter was fantastic throughout. The atmosphere was lovely. Music great. Beer also great. All 4 of us agreed that it was the best meal we’d had in a really long time! So much food but we didn’t feel bloated or sluggish afterwards. It really was the gem of a find. Only complaint is that we don’t have one in England!

What a find! I wandered in a few weeks ago, noticing the incredible cosy, cool vibe and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff.
I went for the peanut curry which was a bowl of delicious goodness. When the snickers bar arrived for dessert, my expectations continued to be exceeded.
By the end of the meal I was planning my next visit.
A cool, cosy spot with fresh, super tasty food. 12/10

The food took a long time to get served. I am guessing because it’s home cooked. We were there for 1.5h before getting the main course. We did get starters before this but the waitress did not check once in the meantime if we want more drinks and it was very hot this day and we had been walking a lot. Despite this I would most definitely go back, with more time on my hand because the food was great. We had tacos and the cassava for starters. Great flavors and textures. For then main courses we had the peanut curry and laksa. Again, really nice flavors and textures. Really recommend. It’s quite oily though but great flavors.
