Surprised by how difficult it has been to find gluten free catering in Amsterdam. The Caffe Esprit is an oasis in a desert of junk food. It has a good selection of gf and vegetarian food. Would recommend. The service was fast and efficient.

It took a very long time to both get our order taken and later to pay the bill, and we had to actively chase down a waiter to do it. The food was quite OK, although an apple crumble that was more raisin than apple...More

Coffee and food is ok but the service is not great. Often get coffee orders incorrect so make sure when ordering. Also takes forever to get bill and track down anyone to order.

Went for a drink and later had a sandwich. Nice spot lots to watch, drinks were fine, they do jugs of beer and I had wine, which was pleasant enough. Ordered a club sandwich to share and they brought extra cutlery. Sandwich was nice, saw...More

Underneath the Esprit shop is this cafe which spills out into the square. On the Sunday we were there an art market was in full swing, and a jazz band were busking. We only ordered drinks, sat outside and watched the world go by. It...More

The place came very highly recommended. We found the service and the food good but certainly not outstanding as we expected. Gods selection on the menu and the service is quick

Possibly the worst cafe in Amsterdam. We spent an hour waiting for terrible overpriced food with pretentious names and little to no flavour. Avoid like the plague

We stopped because the terrace looks nice. But, the table was sticky and dirty and the worst part is we ordered sparkling water and it took 30 min to arrive to our table. Sitting under the sun and asking twice for the water wasn’t a...More

Good location, nice and warm, nice local beer very smooth. Good burger but very rare so ask for well done and tuna salad on Italian bread. Reasonable cost for Amsterdam not the best meal we have had

My friends and I had lunch at the Caffee Esprit two weeks ago. We ordered two burgers and one salad and three drinks. Which seems to be a simple order. However, whereas the burgers were served after 15 minutes, the salad did not. After 10...More

Description
Caffe Esprit is located in the historic heart of Amsterdam. This unique venue is characterised by its central location and its panoramic views over the whole of the Spui. Caffe Esprit is visited by a very varied public: shoppers, business people and students have long known where to find Caffe Esprit. Caffe Esprit has long been known for its extensive menu of delicious club sandwiches, pastas, burgers and salads. The splendid home-made carrot cake and cheesecake have for years attracted a large clientele. In the summer months, the sun-drenched terrace is a delightful spot for enjoying our spendid lunches, a good glass of wine and a small glass of refreshing cold beer with finger food.
