It was a very cold day and I needed something warm for lunch. I bumped into this quaint place, very busy but the welcoming owner prepared a savoury cheese/tomato pancake although the table was booked for people coming in 20 minutes. Service is quick, very friendly and good-humoured. This was my lucky day. The pancake was delicious, perfect with a cup of tea! Booking is best and take some cash, as cards are not accepted. I'll definitely return to this lovely restaurant, which seats 18 at the most.

We felt very warmly welcomed and the lady who served us was so nice - she recommended the best pancake and was very attentive. With only a few tables, the pancakes were freshly made and service was quick, yet we didn't feel rushed. It was a lovely little find, in a very unique setting, and of course most importantly, the pancakes were delicious! One tip: I think it may be cash only payment (not sure as I wasn't paying!) so check before you order.

To begin, if you are not actively searching for this place, it is really easy to walk right by so make sure to keep your eyes peeled. Or, have Google Maps at the ready. My partner and I were lucky enough to stumble upon it when they had an open table and OH BOY was it worth it. Absolutely delicious! They have plenty of options for whatever your taste is. I opted for a fruity pancake with strawberries, blueberries, powdered sugar and fresh whipped cream while my partner opted for a chicken mushroom type one. Both were *chefs kiss*. The orange juice is some of the best I've ever had and they have tea for one that comes in the cutest teapot where the bottom is the cup. Decoration wise they are so unique and fun with teapots hanging from the ceiling and, if you're lucky enough to get the window table, a pretty lovely view of the street. Be aware that there are very steep stairs and it is the smallest restaurant in Europe so you may have to wait.

I was so looking forward to my visit here having seen the 'Beverly Hills Housewives' Amsterdam trip episode, I was expecting great things. The building from the outside and the almost vertical stairs have great character as does the tiny little restaurant with only 4 tables. There are teacups and pots hanging from the ceiling and it is quite a charming atmosphere. Our waiter was equally charming and came to our table bearing a dish of strawberries which he explained, in detail, were the 'juiciest and best of the year'. I was fully expecting to be offered one as a sample and was just about to reach my hand out when they were whisked away. I clearly wasn't getting to sample these unless I paid 16 euros for the 'special strawberries and cream' pancake. I ordered, instead, a ham and cheese pancake, which, when it arrived, was indeed a ham and cheese pancake, pretty ordinary, nothing amazing. The only amazing thing was the price, at a whopping 14 euros. I'm afraid I cannot, in good faith, recommend this place. They are small, but have a very quick turnover, they are, I believe, taking the Michael with their extortionate prices for a rather ordinary crepe and I left feeling a bit deflated and cheated. A free strawberry would have been nice.

I absolutely loved this pancake house in Amsterdam. It is so charming and should be on your list of must eats in Amsterdam. It only has a few tables, which are up a tremendously steep flight of stairs in the old house. I had the pancake with fresh strawberries and cream, so yummy! You will absolutely love eating here, and you will feel like you are eating in a traditional Dutch home kitchen!

A sweet little pancake place with so much character- The long list of potential pancake combos were great loads of options, both sweet and savoury. The maple syrup, sugar etc being on the table was a great touch as you can choose how much you want on your pancakes! The stairs are high up but this just builds even more character to a small, intimate and cozy vibe. Would definitely go again lovely tasty food thank you!❤️

Four tables. Very tight space! Steep stairs to get up to the 2nd floor of the restaurant. Cool vibe, with tea cups hanging from the ceiling! Sign says "no photos". Who me? ;-) Very diverse pancake menu. Make reservations and BRING CASH! Everything is made fresh and you can taste it. Wait staff(1) and chef (1) are the owners, all in one room. Not much personality. Guess you don't need one when the food is the draw. Touristy. We were a family of four. We each ordered something different and we were all happy with our orders. It was a unique experience.

Went to eat at this restaurant on a Tuesday late afternoon. According to yelp and google, they closed at 6 pm. We got there at 5:22 pm. The wait person, who was female, said they were closed. I said that they were suppose to be open till 6 pm. She said no, they close at 5:30 pm. I then pointed out that it was only 5:22 pm. She then said that they were out of pancakes, which was probably untrue since there were still customers in the restaurant finishing their meals. Bottomline is that the wait person would have made up any excuse to get rid of us since they did not want to be bothered with any further customers that day. I have no idea about the quality of the food, since never got to eat there. Lowest rating for customer service.

I had to call 1 week in advance to make reservations. You need to make reservations! The seating capacity is 10 adults max. We arrived and got our table almost immediately. The food and the service were both fantastic! The brie, bacon, and honey pancake is the very best and is prepared with care. This restaurant is in a building that dates to 1539, and it's charm (teapots hanging from the ceiling) only adds to the fabulous food offered. The stair leading up is no more than 20" wide, so keep that in mind when arriving. EVERYTHING about our visit was special and inviting. Regretted having to leave!

Smallest restaurant in Europe - 4 tables and the stairs to get there on the second floor are essentially 90 degrees like climbing a ladder. Very cool and a bit crazy. Once inside mouthwatering pancakes. I would describe the Dutch style pancake in between an American pancake and a French crepe. Such friendly service and they give you one hour. Reservations are a MUST- we had our hotel call and make it for us. We saw them turn away every walk-in that came up the stairs. It was reservations only on the weekend. It was a bit funny as those turned away had to do the walk of shame down the steep staircase. We got two specialty pancakes: The “Kai” as recommended by the waiter was Brie, bacon and honey— absolutely incredible. The “King” was Dutch strawberries and cream that was mouth watering.

Well, I didn't expect it to be a real house. A real old Dutch house, too tiny and the stairs are very steep, but don't be afraid to go updtairs because you will get great pancakes! The owner is a Dutch lady who was very welcoming. There are around only 3 tables in the place, and you will probably be sharing the table with others, so if you don't like that, don't bother. Everyone was talking to everyone since it was a very small place. They offered savory and sweet pancakes, we ordered one of each and they both were really good. They do not accept cards, so make sure you have cash. Highly recommended but watch your steps on the way down !

The savory pancakes were fair. The strawberries and cream was fabulous. It was easy enough to get a reservation by calling a week in advance. We had a 5:00 table. The service was atrocious. We ordered, she served our food, never checked back. At 5:25 we got her attention and asked to order a sweet pancake for dessert. She said the kitchen was closed, it closed at 5:30. They did ultimately serve us the sweet pancake but she was not nice about it. Then when we asked for the bill, she made a point of telling us the bill didn’t include service (tip). My son said “the meal didn’t include service either.”

Cosy small restaurant that we stumbled upon. Luckily enough we got a chair without booking one first. The staff were nice and welcoming and we got the pancakes fairly quick. The pancakes were nice but no surprise. For 16 euro each I found it expensive for a pancake with some strawberries and quite small amount of whipped cream on top of it. (And flour sugar and little honey to be fair). The photo shows the lunch for approx 41 euro. Gah... So, sorry. Only three stars from us due to the pricing and feeling that you need to leave quick to give rooms to others.

My husband and I have been enjoying pancakes here for 27 years! We visit every single trip (once or twice a year). It’s a charming little place with hilariously steep stairs and maybe 5 (teeny) tables. If you wait by the door before they open at noon, you maybe able to grab the table by the window. My favorite pancake? Plain with cinnamon sugar and a dab of cream. The only bummer is that they use peanut oil on the griddle, so it’s not the place for people with allergies.
