What a find! Like a showcase for Amsterdam breakfast/ brunch specialties: pancakes , omelettes, and pies. Also good coffee and croissants. You don’t need to do the long lines at the famous neighboring venues omelegg or the Amsterdam pancakes. Here you will find both specialties as good (or even better than) as in those places and in a much more inviting ambience and with better service. I know it for sure as I tried myself the three places. Hey, even the frites in this place where almost as good as in the famous mannekenpis where there is always a line

Dwaze Zaken is located close to centraal station and became a regular stopping place during our stay in Amsterdam. The staff were friendly and efficient; all speaking excellent English. The cheese omelette surmounting seeded bread and salad was tasty as indeed was my partner's grilled vegetable platter. These, together with a latte and glass of rosé came to €30; a reasonable price for the centre of Amsterdam.

The quality versus prize was great!
The waitress was very rude in the beginning but was nicer when we ordered a lot of stuff. The food is good considering the price and the portions are big. The orange juice is fresh, the chai tea a bland. Would recommend for breakfast in Amsterdam as it is very close to the centraal station.

The whole breakfast was just a bad experience. It took very Long time before we could order. When we first got our food they made a mistake and gave us the wrong order. When they finaly gave us the right order, it was wrong Again. They also tried to give us a extra coffe that we did not order, and they Even charged us 3 Euros for the coffe that we did not order or drink. When we asked them what the food contained, the waitress did not know and did not bother to check, it looked like she did not care or Even tried. And it was wrong.
When we got our food, we did not even get fork and knife to eat with, we had to get it ourself.
When we wanted to pay, they did not allow us to spilt the bill, and that is problematic for us.
We also noticed that other costumers had to send their food Back because it was the wrong order.
It was just really chaotic, messy and the waitresses were very unprofessional. Avoid This place

Lovely little place that served great coffee and some delicious pancakes (thoroughly recommend the cheese and bacon). Friendly staff with excellent English. Can get quite busy and they have limited staff so recommend getting their early to beat the crowds but it's a lovely cafe in a really convenient spot just up from the central station.

So I was here with a group of friends. We were visiting Amsterdam for a study trip. The majority of the group had already ordered and received their drinks, and the rest of us were joining them to go through logistics before leaving for the airport. However, when me and the two others sat down and the waiter/manager(?) can to take our order, the two others said they were not gonna have anything. Instead of either accepting this or asking us politely to leave the man answered by saying “So you’re blocking my bar, and then not ordering anything? Get out”. We thought he might be joking so we kind of joked it off amongst the group. However I felt hesitant to order, in case he wasn’t. Three minutes later, my worries were confirmed, when he came over for the second time and said “ I told you guys to get out”, targeting the three of us who had yet to order. The entire group was quite shocked as we come from Norway and this is in no way what we except from a restaurant. The man then continues to the exit door and holds it up, with a very unpleasant smile, while he continues to say “get out”. So obviously, the entire group leaves the restaurant with a horrible feeling. I don’t know what the custom is in the Netherlands, and whether the entire group has to order something, but in that case, I still would have appreciated being treated with some degree of respect. I would like to add that there were several empty tables and we only occupied one table. Hope the management takes this into consideration for the future as this kind of place and treatment has nothing to do in the service industry.

I was with a group of friends at this restaurant. We sat down and ordered, except on of my friends who only wanted some water (had been feeling unwell), and what I believe to be the owner yelled at my friend to leave. We thought he was joking, but no. He yelled again, and told my friend to “get out”. Naturally none of us wanted to stay, so we asked to pay. He held the door open for us on the way out - but in the sense of “leave immediately”. Never had such a rude restaurant experience before. Please don’t support this restaurant.

Exellent zuccini soup, the fish in the fish and chips had a tad bit too salty crust. Nor are sweet potato chips my favorite, but if you like them...Fine location and sunny outside tables p.m.

Our first meal in Amsterdam was at this fun little cafe right next to Centraal Station. I enjoyed my chai latte quite a bit, it even came a with a little Stroopwaffel - a perfect welcoming gift! Lime mayonnaise served with thick-cut fries was excellent. The main was whole roasted rooster with a tangy apple compote. Tasty but could've used more salt or seasoning on the bird.
Recommended for weary travelers!

Stopped here for lunch on our first day in Amsterdam. Had coffee and a cheese and bacon pancake, my wife had the cheese and ham pancake. The coffee was really good and came with a nice little stroopwaffle, unfortunately the pancakes were poor, being over thick and not cooked properly.

I had to wait around 35 minutes for my lunch but they asked me if I was hurry and I accepted. They offered me A bottle of coke for free which is appreciated by my side. the restaurant has very large windows and fine interior design that makes the place unforgettable. thank you!

We loved visiting this place during our three -day stay in Amsterdam. Prices are expensive though. Knowledgeable staff, good menu.
However we would kindly ask your team to be trained properly. One waitress was running after us screaming that we didn't pay despite the fact we already paid and there was another colleague of hers who accepted the payment for our drinks. The waitress did not apologize and was quite rude to us.

The lamb cutlet and stew with asparagus and gnocchi was very good. The lamb was tender and the asparagus was fresh. I remember not liking gnocchi when I was in Italy, but this version was cheesy and slightly charred. It was tasty. We also ordered the apple and bacon pancake. When it came, I noted that there seemed to be no bacon in it and so I asked the waitress about this. She realised she had made a mistake and had ordered the apple pancake instead. We were fine with that since there was a generous amount of apples in the pancake, though I had been curious about the combination of apples and bacon. We ended the meal with a sticky date dessert. The sticky date was moist and sweet. I found the lime sorbert accompaniment a bit strange but my husband felt it helped to counter the sweetness of the sticky date pudding. There was also some avocado cream, which I guess also helped to counter the sweetness of the sticky date pudding.

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to get a drink… we saw some people eating burgers and thought they looked fantastic so decided to stop and try them! They really were tasty, although I do think a little expensive! I would recommend though!

This is a must when in Amsterdam. We had a bacon and apple Dutch pancake that was more than amazing! Topped it off with a slice of apple pie and WOW! The location was great and very easy to find, the ambiance was terrific and the service was “the best “! Don’t miss this experience.
