Cafe ONS Whatever their walk of life, everyone is welcome at Café ONS. Whether you are a local 'from the North' or a tourist wisiting Amsterdam, you will feel at home at Café ONS on the Buiksloterweg, just a five-minute walk from the city centre. Our small and cosy café has the vibe of an Ibiza-style lounge bar. Our mission is to provide a home-like feeling for everyone. You can recognise us by its covered garden, where you can enjoy one of the local beers or a top-notch gin and tonic. At night we fire up the old wood stove. At Café ONS, making the most of your day and feeling chilled is the aim. You can lounge as long as you feel: start your day with breakfast, get some work done and enjoy a drink. We have a no-nonsense menu, made with fresh produce- and love. All dishes offer something different. My partner and I had a nice, relaxing lunch here. The cafe is located in a really quiet, charming area by a canal.
We ordered veggie burgers and fries which tasted fresh and flavorful. The people who worked there were also very sweet and helpful!

Very sweet cafe, which I’d highly recommend. Seemed to be mostly locals. I can here with my two older teen daughters for a late lunch before visiting A’dam lookout. We shared a small plate (12 pieces of Dutch snacks) which were yummy with the sauces. The girls each had baked Camembert which they said was ‘divine’. I had the tomato & paprika soup which was tasty and filling. With 2 glasses of wine, Fanta and water it came to around €70 which wasn’t bad at all. Service really lovely and other patrons chatty and friendly. Would recommend if visiting this side of Amsterdam.

This a bit middle-of-nowhere Amsterdam cafe in Amsterdam North(Noord) has the best hamburger in all of Amsterdam. I ate here just by coincidence and now whenever i visit Eye film museum for a movie, i drop by and eat the hamburger. Unbeliavable quality and taste.

If you like to be treated rude, this is your place... Karen's paradise!
The first course (a very thick soup) came quick but we had to wait like 35 min for the secound plate (precooked chicken). The older lady with brown hair who manages the cash point treated in such a humiliating way, she was rude and arrogant and offered us comments like "I cannot separate the bill now" or "listen, I am too busy for that" or even a loud "F- word" to us!". Other costumers were also extemely loud but they were there only for the drinks. The prices are a little bit on the high side.

Very welcoming, chatty and helpful staff, happy to give recommendations from the menu (which were very good!). Reasonably priced food and big portions, very tasty, my friend and I enjoyed every course (we both had the French onion soup, followed by the burger and the salmon respectively). Also fab music on throughout with a lively but relaxed atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit!

It doesn’t stand out much - looks like a little gift shop or something but once you’re inside the place opens up into this lovely little place. With plenty of available seating and nice lights it’s a very nice environment to relax and eat some good food in.
I was recommended the ribs - which were €26 but very worth it. They came on a full plate with chips and sauces which is very filling.
As a solo traveller, highly recommend as the staff spoke very good English and were very welcoming.

Me and a friend decided to visit the cafe fro breakfast and wow was i delighted we picked there. Greeted by friendly staff who were so helpful and nice. Waitress Barbara served us and honestly was the best waitress/waiter ive ever been served by anywhere ive been!
She was nothing but nice and helpful and full of happiness! She came and had a talk with us and it really felt like we were locals and not strangers from a foreign country and gave us some recommendations for things to do in the 38C heat.
As we were leaving we helped them bring some drinks upstairs and we were well looked after and even got a free ice cream!
Would recommend to anyone, thanks so much for you hospitality barbara and staff (who I didn’t get the names of) you will definitely be the talk of ireland when we get back!

If you’re looking for a good place for some authentic foods! Then cafe Ons is the perfect place to be at. The staffs are so lovely and so are their foods. The foods were so lovely that we as a couple had to revisit for another dinner date!! - A must food order from this cafe would be ham burger and jalapeños Terriyaki satay beef!! Absolutely loved it😍

I went here right after i Landed and before going to my airbnb. The people were super welcoming and served me dinner even if the kitchen was closing and where starting just with drinks. The place is very super cozy, fun music and an easy ambiance.
I had the hamburger which was great and decently priced for Amsterdam standards.
Will definitely go back for their onion soup!

This place was a great find.
The atmosphere is chilled and it just feels right to be here!
The staff are friendly without being intrusive.
The beer and wine selection is good.
And, saving the best till last, the homemade hamburger is the best hamburger I have ever had and I'm nearly 60 years of age!

Extremely slow horrible service. I’ve been here a few times. It
Is always at least a 1.5 hour wait for your food. And get ready to walk to the bar and get your own cocktails. Expect an argument from the owner if you ask for your food any quicker. She blew her top the last time we walked out after waiting 1.5 hours. Avoid this place.

The ambiance in the porch with the wood burning stove was just magical and fun. Food was off the chain delicious. It took an inordinate amount of time to get our food is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, but it was worth the wait. Staff nice and apologized realizing it was crazy slow. Such an awesome local feel. I would recommend just don’t be in a hurry!

Cosy place near the ferry in Noord. Me and my friend had a cocktail and brunch (scrambled eggs). Was okay! Dish was a bit too little for our appetite but the bloody mary was great! Diverse menu and enough choices. The staff was a bit awkward en kept us waiting for quite some time.

I came for breakfast and had 3 eggs, with bacon and cheese, under a bad of brown bread with americano coffee. Delicious!
Lunch time I had the OMS Burger, with French fries, OMG!
The meat, the bread, the sauce… what an amazing burger, it is a must to try!

Visited Amsterdam on a short holiday and this place hands down was the highlight to our trip! The food and drinks were absolutely wonderful, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. Very reasonably priced and with a relaxed atmosphere I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you, cafe Ons! I hope I get the chance to visit again in the future.
