Met z’n 9en een superavond gehad. De ene smaaksensatie na de andere, leuke eigenaars en bediening én topatmosfeer. Meer dan een aanrader! Had a super evening with our group of 9. One flavour sensation after another, lovely owners and service and the best atmosphere. I...can truly recommend it!More
A small restaurant with great food. The tables are close together but due to the good vibe in this place it is irritating nor annoying. You really feel welcome with your name on on the table. They serve nice BTs and lovely Gruner Veltliner. We...had Pangsits with just the right spicing. Wish I had asked for twice the amount! The Rendang and Dragonfly chicken were very tasty. The Ikan (fish) was served in a great thick red sauce. Dessert of the day was the Mississipi Mud served with excellent ice cream. A bit too much salt on the cake for my taste. All in all a wonderful dinner served by caring and cheerful staff. Too bad we paid 4.50 for water. Amsterdam water tastes great so stop selling the Earth water please.More
This is on a peaceful side street in the Jordaan quarter, and is very much a hidden gem. The waitress recommended a lovely rose and brought us complimentary tapas with our drinks! Felt very authentic in a lovely setting
A very nice place where to spend an evening. Food is original, plenty of vegan food, different tastes of the world. It comes in small portions to share which is ideal for it to be friendly and relaxed. Booking through the web site is a...must.More
What a great discovery this was. We were walking by and were pulled in by this restaurant being much more full than any other in the vicinity. And we found out why: it serves excellent Indonesian food with a fusion twist. The small plates were...all delicious: tempura cauliflower (my favorite), Vietnamese dumplings, and the salad of the day. The ginger lemonade was just perfect for this crackling hot day, and the service was attentive and prompt. The only reason for four stars rather than five is that the beef rendang wasn’t as good as the other dishes. The beef could be more tender and more flavorful. Overall, a gem of a place and worth trying.More
Had awesome cocktails at Vesper and the awesome bartender recommended this place. Walked the four blocks, it was close to closing BUT Marika seated us against the chef’s wishes THANK YOU MARIKA. We suggested she bring us whatever we had AMAZING dumplings, fried cauliflower that...we reordered, beef stew, and some salad. The Chef offered is some AMAZING aubergine as a gift. Our friends from Amsterdam LOVED IT AS MUCH AS WE DID. GO THERE. LET THEM SERVE YOU THEIR FAVORITES. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. WORTH EVERY PENNY.More
we had a great evening in this restaurant, we spend a dinner here with our friends. Service was a bit slow at the start, reasonable pricing of dishes, the food was good but it was a bit small portions for a big group as ours....Cozy place , nice food but not sure if we would come back, been there done it, but there might be better places to go for indonesian food.More
Nice place with open kitchen. Menu offers a variety of small dishes and entire menu like a Indonesian rijsttafel. Food was good but not whow enough, service was really pleasant. Had a great evening. Downside is pricing and to high compared to offered food.
This review is based on one dinner: the "bowl" dish (with "rendang"), with a glass of red wine. I give this restaurant just two stars, because the food was edible and not really bad but quite mediocre. The portion was on the small side. The...total price was €26, a bit high, in my opinion. Altogether this was an unsatisfactory dinner. Although I live in the neighbourhood, I will definitely not go back. (NB: The "soul food" served here has absolutely nothing to do with the Southwestern U.S.A.) My overall rating of two stars means: unsatisfactory, by my standards, all things considered including the price.More
