This is a great find. A very traditional location on the water but great for a drink. There is an upstairs that has great views down the canal and there is a good selection of beers and drinks...traditional but fun

THE OWNER CALLED ME A C*NT 3x. This was the WORST stop I have ever made in Europe. Locals, visitors, and travel websites recommended this bar as a must-see as it's old age and architectural wonder has marveled visitors time and time again. But I...had the absolute displeasure of encountering one of the owners and he completely disrobed the entire experience. I am traveling with a family of 7 and the owner actually had the nerve to call me, a woman, 26yo, a C*NT 3x over, for trying to save seats for the rest of my clan while they were buying drinks. THE OWNER CALLED ME A C*NT. Go inside at your own risk....I wouldn't if you're a woman...More

If you are looking for a place where you can eat&drink on Amsterdam canals, you are in the right address. Very cool place with nice terrace, friendly staffs.

Small, characterful place which looks very old but actually is not, this place affords nice views. Its hard wooden seating isn't too comfortable & the beers are not that great but still ...

We were looking for a quick bite after the Anne Frank Museum visit and saw this tiny spot by a canal. We got beers as I am always looking to add to my list of new beers and order a couple of their grilled cheese...sandwiches. The service was good and the waitress friendly. The bartender seemed very knowledgeable, but was sidetracked by some old American guy asking a lot of dumb questions. We ended up having a second beer and sandwich before going out to the canal to take some pics and wave at people going by in tour boats. A highlight of the day and time in AmsterdamMore

Rembrandt could see this place from the window of his house across the street, painted it and presumably hung out here. After you've been to Rembrandt's house, then, you should really go here for a drink. Great view, by the canal, decent beer selection, great...typical bar snacks, plenty of outside seating and cosy nooks inside - perfect pitstop!More

Across the street from the Rembrandt's House overlooking a wide canal. Good selection of beers. They even had Goose Island, my favorite IPA in the US. Not much for wine, however. It seems most of Amsterdam is about the beer. Most of the seating is...outdoors at picnic tables and there is very good table service. They also have bar snacks available, but we didn't try any on this visit. Overall a nice place to relax and watch the boats go by.More
