This Thai outlet is located in the middle of restaurant district of a very touristy part of Amsterdam. There is "Tibet" nearby which also serves remarkable Asian food. I had a shrimp Pad Thai with a beer at this location - the recipe was authentic as I have spent time in Thailand. A little overpriced though but really nibbling at... More

I was last here about 9 month ago. It really is a first class experience. We settled for the fixed meal which includes a cocktail, selection of 7 thai appetisers, soup (spicy or not so spicy) 2 main courses with boiled rice and a desert all for 42 euro per person. More than enough for even the most hungry. Service... More

Food was tasteless and dry. Hardly any spices, and even the rice was bad! The service was unprofessional; our waiter was clumsy and inexperienced. All in all, a terrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

Next to the beautifull Amstelkring museum 'Ons Lieve heer op Solder' at the beginning of the OZ Voorburgwal (at the edge of the Red Light District), is the nice restaurant The King of Siam. It is located in an old warehouse. The atmosphere int he restaurant is tasteful with beautiful Thai objects and refined lightning. The opposite of the Thai... More

I question the validity of any good reviews for this restaurant. Our waitress was rude and condescending. The prices were on the real high side for Thai. We asked for water and were told to buy bottled water or order drinks and that they would only give us 1 glass of water for a table of seven guests (yes you... More

Really great Thai food (earned after a day of sightseeing), especially the duck with red curry. Generous plate of starters; friendly staff.

Reading previous reviews there is an improvement in the service or we where just lucky?! Recommend by our foodie friends we booked a night before and walked over from our hotel. Must say this place serves the most delicious thai food I had outside of Thailand. The chef clearly knows what he's doing and the dishes has a modern touch.... More

Appalling, unprofessional, rude service by a couldn't-care-less waiter totally spoilt our meal. The food was average at best and they couldn't have cared less about providing a vegetarian option. We waited ages for our food and when it arrived, it was the wrong thing but it was getting so late that we had it anyway. This was our 2nd visit... More

The food was worth the wait. Service was good (perhaps the terrible server mentioned in other reviews was off or no longer employed) and the Pad Thai was the best we've ever had. We ordered the 7-appetizer sampler as well which felt too pricy for the portion size but tasted good. One thing to note, we were told to order... More

One of my all time favourites in Amsterdam, great thai kitchen with large menu at reasonable prices. On the menu is stated with peppers how spicey the dishes are very helpful for people who cannot eat this spicey. Great staff great location

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
