We've had food from here a few times. The best dishes are the prawn dumplings (har gao), the Sichuan dumplings in chili oil, the Singapore noodles, and the crispy duck with pancakes (which is hard to find in Amsterdam). I'm sure that there are other...good dishes but we haven't tried them yet. We were a little disappointed with the char siu pork, it didn't have enough flavouring. Portions are very large and the restaurant staff are professional. I think this is one of the best places in Chinatown.More

Had a little sui kau soup. Really nice. Like the new Bowles. Steamed buns with char sui. Steamed squid, scallops with garlic. All lovely. Sui mai for me was a bit too big.

The best place in Amsterdam for Dim Sum in my opinion. A big variety of Dim Sum to choose from and they also serve other dishes. Usually go there for lunch on weekends but this time we went for dinner and I was positively surprised...about how they changed the way they serve the food. It looks much classier now and the portions seemed bigger so definitely a plus point there! Only a minus point for the average interior but then again it adds something authentic to it.More

We visited Oriental City for Sunday dim sum lunch. The staff were all very welcoming, and every dish we ordered was wonderful. The duck was especially memorable. Wendy looked after our table of 5 and was very attentive and friendly, which we very much appreciated....We look forward to returning again and again.More

We enjoyed a 5/6 mixed dishes, two of us stuffed ourselves to the gunnels for about 40 euros. Dishes came out staggered and were fresh. No complaints

We came here on a Sunday evening and probably should have taken heed of the peeling wallpaper in the foyer but we were hungry so we went in. The decor is pretty dated. Salmon pink tablecloths and very bright ceiling spotlights made for a very...uncomfortable ambience. The food was rubbish, we had black pepper beef ribs which turned out to be tons of veal in a gelatinous sauce. When we asked what the meat was (because it was white) they said it was young beef. Hmm. The sizzling chicken was not sizzling and tasted exactly the same as the beef. There was not a vegetable in sight in either dish. Oh but it’s ok as you get a bowl of free plain, tasteless boiled rice with your €80 meal. We overheard the couple behind us have a row with the unrepentant manager because they had been charged €18 for some fried rice. Then to top it all off the waitress was desperate for us to pay and had to shoo her away as I hadn’t finished my beer. I would say if you are in Amsterdam and want a Chinese meal, definitely do not come here. Like, really.More

The food was honestly lovely and we enjoyed it however when we got the bill at the end we were charged €18 for chicken fried rice. The staff were rude and dismissive and told us we should have looked at the menu before hand even...though it was extremely hard to read and we were given a tablet to choose our meals and chicken friend rice wasn’t even on there! We had no idea that the price would be so extortionate as we pay around £6 for it at home!!!More

Competition on asian/chinese food in Amsterdam is big, so maybe look a little further and go to Zeedijk where you will find places that offer higher quality for a lower price than Oriental city. Setting however is nice and so is the staff

they make you sit at a table in the room promising to move to one near the window when free, but then they tell you that you can't because booked ... but they don't take reservations. Pay attention to what they bring you, they always...try to bring you more courses or different from the one you ordered . liars and unkind.More

My wife and I and 2 friends had "diner" here on Tuesday 28th January. Lovely deco, lovely restaurant to look at. BUT 1. Very Very Expensive 2. Waiter was extremely rude, not to use personally but I waitnessed how he treated a group of 'smokers',...he spoke down to them, ignored them and treated them like they shouldn't even have been there.More

For 4 of us, we spent about euros 60 odd so it was not pricey. Dim sum are small dishes like tapas so it depends on how many dishes you order.
