We came here late on a sunday night, close to closing time. We were therefore the only guests at the end. The waitress was really nice, and the food was great! Its a laidback, relaxed place, I would go there again. (Its not expencive, so...More

Found this just around the corner from the busy square and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was freshly cooked to order and was very good, so good we went two nights. Varied menu with plenty of choice. Beer/wine reasonably priced. Good service. Will be returning.

If you are tired of overpriced beer and poor food in the tourist trap of the Rembrandtplein then you do not have to go far to find this amazing restaurant! It is in between the Amstel and the Rembrandtplein and I highly recommend it. It...More

I'll start out by saying that we enjoyed our meal overall. We found it using Trip Advisor and it was rated well by the users. When we got there, we felt the menu was a little 'hardcore' for our American pallets. For example, there was...More

Just in two steps from crowded and noisy Rembrandtplein you can find a quiet place with perfect food. Restaurant is really small and if you are a big group (more than 8) - could be difficult to find the space.

Food was gorgeous - everyone in our group agreed (including an ex-chef) and we were amazed at the price - very very reasonable. And we hadn't visited any coffee shops before our meal.

This restaurant was just round the corner from our hotel, ate there on our first night and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 course meal. Going back tonight because they ran out of Creme Brûlée

Description
Szmulewicz is since 1990 a small, informal, cosy restaurant (with terrace) in the centre of Amsterdam, near Rembrandtplein. The name suggests a Polish kitchen, but the chefs have different nationalities, and are inspired by the international (Mediterranean) kitchen. Dutch dishes are also being served. We all speak English, and some of us speak French and German as well. Since the place is frequently visited by locals, please make a reservation!
