The restaurant is located on one of the many side / inner streets in the Amstel area (on the opposite side of the canal as the opera house). Its a small, cosy and quaint place; nothing fancy but definitely not shabby either. As with most...Amsterdam cafes, it has indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Had the chicken quesadillas and a soda; while the dish was prepared differently than I'm used to, it was nevertheless tasty. Very reasonably priced too. Overall it was money well spent.More

Delicious food in a cozy space. We ate here after being up for 2 days due to travel. The food was good enough to keep us awake! Also, very reasonably priced!

General ambience: fine. Chicken tagine: fine. Everything else: horrible. We made reservations because it was 8pm on Saturday; reviews suggested this might be a popular place. Plenty of people there, but mostly because they could not leave due to slow service. Ordered chicken tagine (fine...not...good) and duck confit. Duck ended up being chicken, with no explanation and poorly cooked. Sides were miserable and inedible. Served wrong wine; opened before we could taste, and waiter plonked bottle down and disappeared before we could correct him — and attempts to get service were rebuffed. So many better places in Amsterdam — avoid this one.More

Good food and accommodating staff who managed a table for 8 people on a busy Friday. Although we booked through "theFork" booking service, the restaurant were unaware and still made us feel welcome. The food was delicious.

We walked by this restaurant every day to get to and from our hotel and it didn't look like much. We tried it our third night and I was amazing! The food was divine and the service was unsurpassed! The waitress was extremely attentive and...talked through the entire menu for us so we knew exactly what each dish was. Authentic Italian and just off the Rembrandt Plaza. Definitely a must for a quiet, delicious dinner!More

We had a very nice dinner, great food. Salam very kindly served us and provided us the best dinner we had in Amsterdam. Congratulations to the Chef!

If you have time to accommodate slow, but sweet service in the pursuit of some really good food this is the place for you. We just came back from a couple of weeks in the Netherlands and the UK and must say we had the...best food of our entire trip at this hidden gem. The staff appeared to be short-handed the evening we visited (without a reservation) but they were good-natured and the food was excellent. Hint: Skip the brunch boat (which I shall not name here) and head for this place instead for an afternoon or evening meal.More
