When my mother was alive, I often took her shrimp croquettes to the Markt in Roermond. Now that I was back in Roermond I wanted to repeat that tradition on my own. This was the third time my wife and I have been to this restaurant since we discovered this lovely town in 2012. Previously we have had excellent service and food. We noticed a lady that appeared to be in charge previously was not there, and wondered if there had been a change in ownership. The menu seemed to have changed, with fewer choices. We chose to sit inside (we were the only ones), because a number of smokers were on the exterior terrace, and that can spoil our enjoyment of a meal. I mention this because I noticed a review which suggested they weren't allowed to sit inside. We had no problems with our request.
Service was a little slow but my sesame prawns were good, as were the beef medallions my wife had, however the beef was tepid on arrival. We shared a very tasty strawberry bombe for dessert.
Overall, a pleasant experience but not quite as good as before.

We had gone to Roermond the Monday after Christmas... we had to find our way through the new expansion, maae fortunately that worked out! What a nice finish after visiting the cathedral, shopping and eating here! The kitchen is dormitory, the staff super and everything is smooth, which is nice if you are metnde train! Let's honor dot good address together for a nice day in Roermond. Se sauces with the dishes do justice to French cuisine, which must be extra special for Northern Dutch people and the cordial careful service makes Southern Dutch feel at HOME. We thought we would sit on a terrace on Liberation Day, it was busy in Roermond so we took the first table. Soon the host came to ask what we wanted to drink, 2 drinks and a snack board. Unfortunately, that's where things went wrong, the two drinks did not arrive as ordered, well... too bad I was thirsty so I drank it without saying anything. The host was clearly not looking forward to it today.
The only thing we noticed during 30 minutes on the terrace is that there are 3 tables occupied in the middle of the terrace, much to the annoyance of the guests passing by and people who sat down and were immediately asked to leave in an unfriendly manner.
I don't understand why those tables are reserved at all, but that's not my concern. However, we experienced it as unpleasant and unfriendly that guests kept walking away. And we were clearly not the only ones who noticed it, everyone was talking about it.
It's none of my business, but I still advise you to consider how things could be done a little differently.

Ordered carpaccio and smoked salmon primal bread on the terrace. Taste was very good. The service was also very attentive and nice. . Then ordered desserts and coffee. The overall impression was top. One downside, the white wine was a bit on the sweet side. They had 3 types, so it was more our fault. 5 stars for that

Good food, sometimes very good service. Manager waitress very bad and when the bill was charged twice too much... she tried to blame the guest. She also sat down at the guest table while smoking. She was left with a very bad feeling. Tip.. check your bill

We stayed at the Theaterhotel and just wandered around to find a restaurant for the 5 of us. (Fish, Meat and Vegan, so we needed a diverse menu). We stumbled upon the restaurant and it was very very cold so we quickly duck in. It was cozy, warm and pleasant. The waiter assigned a table and provided a good run done of the menu. They have menus at least in Dutch, English, German, but probably other languages as well. The bouillabaisse was great and so were the salads and the various pasta dishes we had. The waiter also provided insights on the beer types they had (mainly the "Brand" brand. Very nice beer.
It was a pleasant evening on a very cold night and we highly recommend this restauant. It is by the square with outdoor seating and nice views of the square.

Lots of choice of where to eat in Roermond. This is one of our favorites, we have been visiting for several years. Apparently they now have a new chef. Several new waiting staff too. The food is good. The staff were correct but could be friendlier and more attentive, when people came in looking for a table they were totally ignored whilst the waiter walked past them with an order. At least say "Hallo, welcome."

Busy on weekends. Good for light lunch or diner. Lots of outside space. Mussels to die for, best in town. On the corner of the market square. Sit and watch the world go by. Private function room uostairs.

The restaurant is near to the hotel I stayed and I went there twice for dinner within 8 days. The service in this area is extremely nice and I also love the atmosphere of this restaurant.
As for the food, I had the best soups here, we've tried 3 different kinds of soups and all of them are delicious!
For the main course, I enjoyed what I had but the salmon was a bit too salty to me.
