It’s a good chilled place and absolutely suitable to go for a brunch or lunch. My friend and I tried both meat and vegetarian options - quite satisfying experience. Though the service leaves much to be desired: sometimes you need to wait for a long...time to be served (even order at the bar yourself) or have your drink (once took us 40 min before someone came to the table)More

We were there just for a quick break, and we enjoyed the place the staff kindness and the coffee and snacks too!

I have eaten here several times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some visits were delicious and the service great. Other visits were the total opposite. Because of this I have to rate the food average, although some meals here have been very good. The last...time I ate here was with my 2 children for lunch. We ordered drinks and 15 minutes later had not received them. I asked the server(who had to be tracked down even though it was not busy at all), and he said they were making them. 5 minutes later still no drink so I went to the bar and inquired. 'Our coffee machine was broken, didn't they tell you?', they said. Not at all! I asked the server about it and he just stared blankly at me.. so I decided to cancel our order and leave. I could not imagine paying for a meal with such poor service. Not to mention, the table beside us also left due to lack of service. It's really unfortunate to have such experiences at Brandweerkantine because the atmosphere is so great and often times the menu is tasty.More

Nice ambience and people, but the service is extremely slow. Staff is friendly and works well, but there should just be more people working. Quality and taste of food is very good, but considering the prices the amount is relatively small.

This restaurant is in the old Maastricht Fire Station and is clean, open and serves good basic meals. The food is good but the staff appeared to be rushed and struggling to keep up (it wasn't really that busy). The main reason is that the...kitchen is small and doesn't really seem big enough for the number of potential diners. Good food and service (when they arrived).More

We booked for dinner and came back for breakfast because the place is so cool, the food so delicious and the staff so friendly.

We went here with a company including a vegan, a vegetarian, and a big meat lover, and all were very happy with what they got at this restaurant! The place has a very nice atmosphere, and besides the food, their drinks menu is also great...for the lovers of special beers and alternative sodas. They usually play nice music, and they often show alternative movies in an adjacent hall on Tuesday evenings. Also a nice place to have a drink in the afternoon or a quick lunch. A bit outside of Maastricht's city centre, but worth the walk!More

Ridiculous policy, mentioned after we had studied the attractive and elaborate menu for 20 mintes. Larger groups can only choose five dishes.... because their kitchen is too small...... and all of that brought to us as if it was our fault

We couldn’t believe how amazing our food was. It is a little more expensive than just Dutch fries but totally worth it. The staff is super nice and helpful and always open for a small chat. The food is exceptional with many options for Vegetarians...or Vegans. Definitely different to regular restaurants. The interior is very stylish with some details from the 60s. We had a great evening.More

I visited the place for dinner with a friend. Friendly, cool atmosphere with polite waitress. We order a salad with mushrooms for a starter which was really tasty and it came with fresh bread. We both went for the steak with parsley and sweet potatoes...and we both stayed fullfiled with the flavour and the amount of the dish.More
