there are great reasons why anyone dining in Sneek should visit this excellent and moderately priced place. Starting with the apt descript ion in the name (the ship cabin) and displaying a unique collection of ship radios, one neters the terrace overlooking the water (if you made a reservation, that is- it os always busy in season). the host is very personal, has a lot of humor and diligently oversees his restaurant. Thsi ensures a great dinner: beautufull Doversole ( the REAL one). a nice , smalll salad buffet included in your meal, an impressive collection of drinks and beers,and a stunning dessert iwth sabayon ( rare to fdn these days). DEFINITELY worth the detour!

How nice, arrived at the campsite in the harbor a cozy looking restaurant. It makes you happy. Upon entering, we are greeted by the very sympathetic Owner who immediately checks if a place becomes available (we had not reserved and the tent is full) we go to the bar with a drink to wait for a table, meanwhile chatting with another visitor. At the table, food was fine, delicious with baked potatoes and fries and hot vegetables and a salad bar where you can choose. The different people at the table all super friendly and cheerful and willing to give personal advice. You will just be relaxed here, ignited by the good atmosphere and certainly also by the delicious wine and food. Highly recommended!

The staff: Many guests but the staff always found time to keep track of how we were doing and if we were missing anything. Several different ones came by including the owners. The food: Well prepared and generous portions. I couldn't even eat the large portion of Spare Ribs! Instead of choosing side dishes for the main course, 2 types of potatoes + cooked vegetables were presented as standard. A salad bar was also available. The drink: Good wine at a reasonable price for a bottle. Bottled water was served in a bottle cooler at the table. Fresh! Lovely environment, well-prepared food and fantastic service from nice people mean that we will be more than happy to return if we pass by!

Went here for wife's birthday on the basis of good reviews on TA. Wish we had gone somewhere in the old city instead. Staff were not very friendly, service was extremely slow, and staff had to be reminded of drinks order. Food was also nothing special, and expensive for what was offered. Very disappointing.

The four of us had dinner in De Kajuit. The staff were very friendly. First we had a drink on the very nice terrace by the harbor. For dinner we sat outside under cover at the restaurant. We ate various dishes á la carte. This generally included the salad from the buffet. The food was also good. You just have to ask twice if you want the meat to be cooked a little more ;-). I only asked once and it was almost raw ;-). But no points deducted for that; I have a mouth on my head for that ;-))

Very successful dinner

The restaurant is very atmospheric and the food is excellent, the service is very hospitable and attentive! We ate very refined starters, namely burrata with tomato and basil, and scampi in garlic oil. As a main course we had fried pike-perch and a duo of lamb (lamb tenderloin and lamb chop), which was served with warm vegetables, potatoes and fries. There was also a real salad bar where you can get unlimited salads. For dessert we had a version of the tompouche and an ice coffee. Everything we ate was perfectly seasoned, well cooked, beautifully presented and not boring, in short, we had a very successful Wednesday evening at De Kajuit and would definitely do it again!

Camping de domp and restaurant de kajuit, a great combination!

Booked 2 nights and ate 1x dinner and 1x lunch It was amazing! The people who work there are all so wonderfully sweet and the chef or chefs should also receive a big compliment. We went back a few days later because the camper place was so beautiful and cozy! The girl who works there recognized us immediately, there was almost no room left to eat, but we still got a table. Great arrangement and it was in great condition again! This restaurant is highly recommended. We will come again sometime! Happy, fun summer to all of you. X

Last Sunday we had a delicious meal with eight people in the cozy restaurant "De Kajuit", located on the harbor in Sneek. In addition to the very good quality of the dishes and drinks, this restaurant also offers a lot of attention to the guests, no matter how busy the restaurant is. The staff is very hospitable and provides a nice surprise for a guest's birthday. In short, restaurant "De Kajuit" is highly recommended.

What a wonderful restaurant! We made a reservation because there are 9 of us. Table was ready. Great service and the owner also came by to check everything was satisfactory. The food was delicious and if you asked for something extra it was no problem. 1 of us has several allergies. They could take that into account. Even an allergen card.

Pleasant evening with delicious food.

Reserved for 4 people. Very kindly received. We got a nice table. The restaurant is attractively decorated. First had a nice drink with a tasty bread board. The waitress was a knowledgeable young lady who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner walked past the tables every now and then and was involved. Main courses and then desserts were all very tasty and more than sufficient. We had a wonderful evening as friends, partly because of the nice place where we sat and the delicious food. We come back!!

We are an English couple who keep a boat in Sneek and have tried most of the restaurants in Sneek, but then a local friend introduced us the Kajpuit. It’s combination of good food, a good atmosphere of happy people in good surroundings make a winning combination. It’s a short ten minute bike ride from the town centre and has a good car park if coming by car. We have introduced many English friends who are now regulars!!! Best to book as very popular!!

We were travelling with friends in a motorhome and the restaurant was recommended to us when we checked in. So we reserved a table for the evening and were not disappointed. The food was very good and the staff very friendly, and a very cosy atmosphere rounded off the overall impression. We would really love to come back!

Lovely place with great food and friendly staff

All with attention. The food and the staff. Staff take the time to have a personal chat with everyone, despite the amount of people and the high temperature. All very friendly. A nice choice on the menu and deliciously executed. Besides ample quantity also extensive garnish and salad bar. Only point of improvement is that the broccoli may be more bite cooked instead of going on and on. 😉

Never eaten better spare ribs!!!!

Great location and rustic maritime-style restaurant where everyone who is really hungry will find something. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. They make sure that the guest is satisfied. Since we often go out to eat very well, we expected a delicious meal, but were surprised by the quality. Hand on heart! We have never eaten such good pickled and slow-cooked spare ribs (boneless)! Buttery soft, well seasoned and juicy! Amazing!!! Some top chefs could learn a thing or two from this! Really crazy good :))) We will be back - even if it's just for the ribs! Until then - ahoy and see you soon

A cozy harbor restaurant that has been lovingly decorated by the owner. The whole crew is very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and very tastefully prepared and served. The staff asked several times if it tastes good or if something is missing. Even the chef has inquired with all his guests whether everything was going well. This is something you rarely experience and will certainly encourage us to come back. We would like to give 6 stars if that were possible.
