Excellent Sicilian pastries, spectacular wedding cakes, bread, sandwiches and coffee. Italian atmosphere, unfortunately Zurich prices. You would expect the staff to be more friendly. Recommended

Located in Josefsstrasse, Cafe Caredda offers a wide range of pastries. My favorites were the Cannoli and the Aragoste. The chocolate cake was a little on the heavy side, and the Amaretti, while delicious, had a lot of alcohol inside. The place also offers hand made marzipan were beautiful. Espresso was excellent, too.

This gem is easily accessible by tram in Zurich (Limmatplaz stop) and definitely worth the trip away from downtown. I must say that some baked goods were absolutely amazing, while others were quite good, but just too alcoholic. My favorite was the aragoste from which I should have had at least three more. Note also, that they make their own... More

The coffee is very good and the waiters really charming. Also try their tea and cocktails! If you are hungry, try their sweet italian specialities.

Café Caredda is located one block off Langstrasse and just a couple of blocks from Limmatplatz, so there are many public transit options of reaching this café. There are two entrances to this business next to each other. The one side of the business is the pastry/breads/cakes in the display cases and several round tables with padded chairs for inside... located just few meters from my place, this is a coffee place I would walk miles for. the Italian Sweets are just too delicious to miss them. Don't get frightened with the loads of pies you see from the outside in the Windows. there are also small Sweets, but not less delicious. and a fine Italian coffee with it -... More

Breakfast in Zurich is definetly an Italian thing, several "caffetterias" managed by Italians. This one have a wide offer of Italian pastries, beutiful also to see. Cornetti are good, other pastries I tried a little too sweet, but ok.

This place is two mins walk from our flat so I tend to pop in from time to time. Their pastries are generally pretty good. The varieties are much better in the morning then in the afternoon. I do enjoy the coffees here a lot. A little on the stronger side, which I prefer. The wait staff is not particularly... More
