Excellent food in a friendly, nice decorated little place. If back in Zurich I will definitely return.

The restaurant has a homey feel to it. It's an old home turned into a restaurant. The menu consists of heavy meat dishes. No vegetarian options unfortunately. Service was so so, definitely not en par with the meal prices.

What a positive surprise as I was invited to a restaurant I never heard of and never thought of ... just around the former City caserne a cool little place , run by Austrians. Small menu but really good !!! good wine list, very nice service and -for Zurich - super-reasonable prices !

Although the name would rather suggest a Swiss cuisine, the "Bernerhof" in Zurich features a very good Austrian-inspired menu. From Leberknödelsuppe to Tafelspitz and Wiener Schnitzel, all of our dishes were very good and generous portions. Also the wine menu offers some highlights at fair prices - the Argentinian Malbec was a real discovery for us. Service staff was very... More

Austrian cuisine does not seem to be the favorite of Swiss citizens. The prohibit Austrian wine by taking high taxes when importing these and restaurants with Austrian cuisine are not often found here. The Bernerhof is an excemption. Here you find typical dishes as cooked from the cookbook of the Sacher Hotel in Vienna and not only that. Austrian cuisine... More

I loved the Wienerschnitzel, thin, large, crispy and tender, couldn't be better! I just don't know why this place is still named "Bernerhof", I would call it "Little Vienna"!

My sister-in-law and her Swiss boyfriend took me here when I visited Zurich. This is a small family run restaurant. I found the service to be very good. Plenty of extra meat was offered. Reasonable wine selection; we had a very nice Malbec.
