Very good and authentic food! Especially you should try the Dan-Dan-noodles ( a little spicy) and the Xian-Long-Bao (dumplings in spicy sauce). Also number 604 which is aubergines with some minced meat ist freaking delicious! I only gave 4 stars because the service... I've been...therr twice and it is a little bit like I remember it from Asia... friendly, but not always super competent in terms of seeing if a guest would like to order something else or simply recongizing the guests seems to be a challenge... but really the food is brilliant so it kinda really makes up for it! :-)More

We visited this restaurant after they changed the cook, nothing better, the dim sum was not self made, the spicy noodle sichuan style was so bad.

我们去吃晚餐,餐厅还有另外一桌客人。蒸包很糟糕,没有完全熟透而且皮是黑色的,从来没去过这么差的中餐厅。 It was so good restaurant before, when it was at the old location at train station. We visited it for dinner, very bad dim sum and spare rips, menu is no dessert. The worst asian restaurant we have ever visited, the dim sum is...not totally cooked and the skin is black. The spareribs were fried over. It was a very unpleasant memory to visit this restaurant, especially with the great experience with the former restaurant which is at train station... so sad...More

The food is authentic and for Zurich Standards not expensive. Especially pork tripe is really good. Going back there soon!

Quite simply the worst culinary experience I had in Zurich. Just to fill in the necessary 100 words I will highly recommend to avoid it.

I have been here countless times with my girlfriend. Some favorite dishes are the water braised fish, kung pow chicken, scallion bread and dry pot chicken. I have had many other dishes on the menu. The prices are fair and the food is amazing in...my opinion but mostly for people who love very, very spicy food. I agree with other reviewers that the staff can be unfriendly, cold, don‘t speak German or English all that well and generally seem uninterested. For example me and my girlfriend have easily visited this place 30 times during the last couple of years yet we are always greeted as strangers while the staff treats us as if they have never seen us before. Nevertheless, the food is truly great and the prices are fair. Even though the new location is decorated more expensively I actually preferred the old location because it suited the food and style of the restaurant more. The location now is slightly more fancy.More

Recommended by a friend, first time there for lunch. It was very disappointing. Food was overpriced, the portions were extremely small. A few tiny pieces of crispy duck was charged about 30 CHF, a rip-off price. Sauce was heavy, not fine at all. Wont go...there any more.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our first dinner at Beyond in their new location, which is a great improvement on the old one before the move. As somebody who lived in Sichuan for some time, the dishes seemed really authentic to me, and we thought they were...extremely delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the offer. Going back there soon!More

I came for the vegetarian Mittagsmenu here. Firstly, it came with soup and spring rolls, a nice change from most Swiss Chinese place where those are very expensive add-ons. Jasmine tea was made of fresh flowers and plentiful. However the star was a big bowl...of tofu (and cabbage) in hot oily sauce. My word, that was good, even if it did make my eyes run and I was glad they brought me some water. I last had anything so nice and fiery and numbing in China. Will have to go back for more of that.More

The food is actually only average even though the restaurant itself is very nice and has a nice ambience. We had to wait nearly 45 minutes for the food to arrive (4 people) and it was tepid. My beef was quite dry so overall we...were disappointed.More

We went with friends for dinner. All of us have been regular visitors to China and enjoy all sorts of Chinese cuisine. We loved the food at Beyond. It's for sure the most authentic Szechuan food in Zurich, if not Switzerland. This however means that...you need to watch your Chillies. Each dish has a "Chili" rating. The three chili dishes are as hot as you would get in Szechuan itself, so make sure this is what you want The dish of the evening was their stir fried chicken with dried Chillies. A classic Szechuan dish, so good that we ordered a second one ! The restaurant is usually very well patronized, with many Chinese customers, which we took as a good sign. It's therefore advisable to book. They recently moved from their old location in Zollstrasse to their new, much more fancy one in Claridenstrasse. The only downside is that it's all a bit disorganized. The (very friendly and polite) waitresses seem fairly rushed, and mistakes in orders are not uncommon. Hopefully this is only due to the new location and once the staff get used to the place, service will improve. Nevertheless, Beyond is well worth the trip and a bit of confusion. Go there if you want truly authentic food. By the way, some other reviews on this site complain about the prices, but by Zurich standards, and considering the quality of the food, we felt the bill was very fairMore
