This was a charming out of the city fondue restaurant. It’s a 15 minute drive with a beautiful view of Zurich . Family owned casual restaurant. Staff was friendly and numerous choices of fondue that I didn’t even know existed. Hubby gluten-free so he stuck...with the potatoes in the fondue and salad and tomato soup. The best fondue rustic restaurant in Zurich. In the middle of the Dolder forest set in a barn with a nice rustic atmosphere and friendly service. The service is also very efficient. My wife and I visited this restaurant today. We were the only ones there, and were treated with courtesy and cheerfulness. We loved the fondue and raclette and I had the soup of the day - it was piping hot and very tasty. I don't...read German so cannot tell you more than it was a barley savory almost stew. Delicious. We can highly recommend anyone visiting Zurich to go out of your way to enjoy this little gem. With coffee, a liter of mineral water, and a dish of pearl onions, pickles, etc., the bill came to 86 swiss francs. We left a gratuity also.More

High above Zürich, this little gem of a restaurant looks over the city and the surrounding countryside and mountains. Located in a restored outbuilding on a former farm, the location couldn’t be more charming. I had a smile on my face just walking up the...hill to the restaurant. The food is traditional Swiss, with an emphasis on cheese fondues, served in the traditional manner. We were a group of five, and several in our party had fondue and loved it (I got to taste some as well, and have to admit it was one of the better fondues I’ve had in Zürich…and I’ve had A LOT)! I ordered the mushroom soup as a starter, and the wiener schnitzel with pommes frites. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. And I enjoyed a couple of local dunkel beers along with my meal. Our party was a bit of a challenge, as everyone was eating and drinking different things, ordering at different times, but the servers didn’t blink an eye and delivered everything correctly AND with a smile. We even paid separately, and the server didn’t have a problem helping each of us settle our individual bills. That, alone, made the evening outstanding! It takes a little effort to get here (we took the tram to the Zürich Zoo, then walked through the woods for about 25 minutes to get here), but it is SO worth the journey! I will DEFINITELY return!More

If you are in Zurich you must try the Chasalp Restaurant. High on a hill overlooking the city, the restaurant is small but very charming. The fondue was out of this world! We shared the truffle fondue, and it was delicious. The service was spon...on. Highly recommend!More

Even through it was summer time, we couldn’t possibly leave Zürich without eating fondue! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The restaurant is quite basic in design and unpretentious, it has an intimate family run feel to it. We ordered two types of cheese fondue, one...is their family made one and the other was the classic type. We were served a lovely salad with typical delicious Swiss dressing and a bag filled with hot, fresh baby potatoes. Both fondues were excellent. The service was lovely and this was one of the best meals we had during our stay in Zürich. They have a lovely terrace which unfortunately wasn’t open when we visited . We would highly recommend this place if you like to have good fondue. Thank you David for your lovely recommendation.More

Tasty food but service must improve... we had a variety of dishes which were all tasteful and good portion vs. quality; however, our waiter was everything but friendly and with manners.

Amazing fondue, we tried the one with lots of herbs and another with pepper and mustard! Lots of bread and potatoes to dip in. A really nice atmosphere and you can see rabbits outside :)

Cheese fondue comes in all kinds of variations. Most delicious are the ones with champaign and with truffles. The one with chilly is a bit too hot for some people´s taste. You can spend a nice evening and enjoy a melange of different cheese fondues...with a good selection of Swiss white wines from various regions.More

Boy I must have been at a different restaurant from most other reviewers. I really didn’t enjoy enjoy my Chasalp experience. Nice warm cosy atmosphere but 3 of blew 300CHF on nothing more than fondue and some wine/beer as part of a group of 20....Wouldn’t recommend this experience. I personally love fondue and cheese but that’s all we had. A couple of tiny bowls of ham and potato to dip in the fondue and pretty ave bread.More

Very nice place. Good ambience and atmosphere, friendly service. Fondue was good but not awesome. Truffle was good but less flavorful and Chilly fondue was too spicy. But the whole experience made it up for that.

The location is cozy and inviting. The service is very friendly and attentive. Different kinds of Fondues to choose from, since the choice is huge. Reservation is recommend especially in Christmas season...
