Fairly small and cozy with a beautiful interior. I had the wonderful Rindspfeffer, braised beef in a dark gravy. I have had lots of spätzle in my day, but without a doubt on this particular day they served me the best spätzle I have ever had. The service was very nice and friendly. I always make the effort to butcher... More

We ate here twice during our 3 day stay in Zurich. The outside appearance is very traditional and might put off the visitor, but the genuine local food and beer was reliable and good value. The pork escalope was a bit tough but very tasty and the rosti was excellent. The house beer was lovely and good value.

We came in for lunch and the male waiter was blatantly rude to us from beginning to end of our lunch. He muttered under his breath as we ordered, refused to acknowledge us, even though he only gave us 3 settings for a family of 6. I ended up eating my meal with a knife as we didn't have enough... This was one of the first restaurants which we passed and decided to stop and eat. Dined with a couple of friends. There was only one occupied table when we entered. The waitress was polite so we decided that this would be a good place to try. The food was good, there were no complaints but nothing spectacular.

The food here was very good and I had the best cordon blu in a long time, but I felt the waiter serving us was very rude. We were one of the only people in the restaurant at the time and he sat down in the corner of the restaurant and just watched us the entire time. He had the... More

For Zurich, finding good food isn't difficult, but finding good and inexpensive food is. We found the Rheinfelder-Bierhaus to be one of those rare good and inexpensive food finds. We likened the quality of the German-Swiss cuisine to that of a very good American diner--large portions, served relatively fast, with a "comfort food" feel. One final note, please see that... More

My local buddy bought me here for lunch and it's a great experience. Famous dish here are veal and liver-related; however I am not into beef so would like to have pork. The chief is so nice and purposely makes me a deep fried pork chop with hash brown, ie wiener schnitzel with pork (by right it should be veal... More

The Reheinfelder Bierhaus offers good and easy Swiss food for a very fair price. The quality of the food is very good, the price is fair (given the location) and the service is also very friendly! A good place to go!

A business partner and I took a break from strolling the old town section of Zurich to enjoy lunch at the Rheinfelder-Bierhaus. We enjoyed the local "Cardinal" brew. We split the calamari and I had the Swiss salad. The salad (consisting of cabbage, beets, and sausage) was good. The calamari was rather ordinary and overly battered.

This beer house was just around the corner from our hotel and we had the house specialty for dinner on our first night - this was Veal in a Creamy Mushroom Sauce with Potato Rosti. It was delicious and our waiter served an excellent wine which he had recommended to us. Friendly staff and we started talking to 2 locals... More
