Well, Zurich is a costly place to eat out (and nearly everything else) but one would not mind eating out if the food tastes good. Tiffins, however, disappointed us on that part. Location, food (diversity and quality), service - all were excellent. We ordered a variety - Samosa, Thai Raw Papaya Salad, and Satay Curry. Each item was delicious.
I know Tiffins for many years. I find the quality and taste of the food has decreased. I tried several time lately, and every time the food was mediocre at best. For some reason this is a local favorite. This I know. Our only experience with it was dreadful. It was actually so bad that I declined going back there when I was invited. There were 2 waiters. Once was very rude. Thankfully we had the...other one serve us. But unfortunately, when we ordered soup, the bowl came with with waiter’s finger inside it. Yes, literally inside the soup. The rest of the food was ok, nothing to rave about, but it ended with a mild case of food poisoning for me. All in all, I don’t recommend this place and would actually recommend a large number of other Asian places that are much better in quality, hygiene and comparable in prices if not better.More
As a regular customer since Tiffin‘s early days 20 yrs ago, I am sad to say there has been a steady decline in food quality in recent 2-3 years, while prices are regularly adjusted upward. I really don‘t mind paying chf 29 for a take-away...green curry with beef, but at that price, it better be excellent. Alas, it is anything but. Instead, what one gets is a bit of plain rice soaked in a watery green curry soup with about 50g of tough beef with some green haricot beans and chewy tinned bamboo-sprouts. No Thai veg or herbs at all. I have given this feedback several times to restaurant staff directly — it is obvious, though, that nobody really cares, as long as customers keep coming back. Perfect for lunch. Visited during August at the height of Covid. Plenty of space and really excellent service. Wanted to eat from the daily menu - though a couple of items were sold out ( though it was closer to 1pm) but still enough choice...from a la carte. We have been here several times before and it never disappoints - tasty food, good portions & served quickly.More

Went for a business lunch with colleagues during the week. Was quite full and livelly atmosphere. Service efficient and quick. I had a poke bowl hich was really delicious. We gave it a try again and again . Food is not real Asian. Curries we have ordered were too oily almost impossible to eat. Soups are very basic. Not like Asian soups normally taste. I felt very upset and disappointed with the meal.More

The place was pretty packed. Service was good. What I chose turned out to be a new item - Indian lamb with Indian bread. The lamb was fine - certainly cooked long beforehand. The Indian bread was very floppy with no taste. We were talked...into spring rolls which were hot and crispy but the inside was some kind of mash. All in all, it turned into some kind of a down market fast food place with staff who helped make it all sort of OKMore

Food in Tiffins is very take away standard taste. Very europeanised food. Like Thai soups with broccoli and carrots. Same curries. I guess it is better then eating from Mac Donald’s but not real Asian food to enjoy. I could not eat even a bit...of the food. As I simply don’t eat such quality food. Wasted time and moneyMore

Zürich is most certainly NOT known neither for the friendliness in it‘s restaurants nor for great hospitality! VOILÀ - the exception. Tiffins! A wonderful, caring, very professional team, excellent choice and food and that lovely touch of Asia in Seefeld. My favourite! I wouldn't call it a "fast food restaurant". But the preparation of food is quick and delicious. Authentic dishes and fair prices. Good choices of food along with friendly service. My favorite spot for Asian food on Seefeldstrasse.More
