Nice venue, good food and good service

Overall this was a very good stop for me In Zurich while waiting to head to the airport. It’s a bit awkward to find as it’s not on a commercial road and there are works taking place around. The venue is nice with some hip trendy design. I missed the lunch menu (which finishes at 2pm) but was able to order a decent meal via the bar menu. I had the burger which comes with fries and has a great présentation. Taste is good. Not the best I’ve ever had but good. The meat which is a mix of beef and pork was very juicy. Service was friendly and efficient. Would go back.

Good wine selection, food mediocre

This is a very popular bar/restaurant in a hip area of Zurich. The place is very cool to look at and the bar is well stocked. Service was very fast, but the place was packed and the tables close together, so the waiters kept bumping into the guests. They also did not look well trained i.e. how they carried the food and presented at the table. The food was mediocre. Starter was good. I had the Pho Bo and it was good, but could have been seasoned a bit better. I had their signature dish, the "BBQ RINDSFEDERSTÜCK" and it was bone dry and pretty awful. Good selection of excellent wine.

Most enjoyable dinner

My sister and I with my husband had an informal dinner there last night and truly enjoyed it. Loft Five appears to be quite a hip and trendy place but caters for everybody. We liked the decor, the service and very importantly, the food. The burgers were excellent even if a bit pricey as someone else commented on already. But regardless, it's definitely worth it and we will go there again for sure.

Horrible food and service

Horrible attitude of serving people, practically rolling eyes and ignoring, like doing you a favor. Was there with a friend and ordered burgers, the waitress didn’t even ask about how the meat should be cooked. Burger came over salted and the meat quality was poor. Never coming again for the food. The place itself looks fancy and nice atmosphere, but bad service and bad food makes you want to go away immediately.

Charged for tonic water

Quick info; this was the second time I visited this place. I did only pay for the gin on my first visit. All of this happened on my second, and definitely last visit there. If there is one thing that I can not tolerate in any way or fashion in a restaurant, is getting charged extra for tonic water. If you order a gin-tonic, it is normal that the price listed for the gin includes the tonic. Not here. I paid CHF 16 (Already a slightly too high price for a GT. Even for Switzerland.) for my Gin and thought that was it. But nope; they charged me 6 bucks extra for some tonic water, making it an eye-watering CHF 22. A price that should be considered a borderline-scam. When confronting the waiter about the issue and informed him that they did not charge for my tonic last time, he gave me a smug look before telling me that "they always charged for the tonic and that I didn't read the receipt properly" he then proceeded to type in the bill to the Credit card reader. While typing the guy had the audacity to ask for a tip, to which I kindly replied, that the tonic should cover it. If you like gin and your money would stay away from this place. If you don't mind exorbitant prices and cocky wait staff (looking at you, "Louis") and just want some good food, this place is not half bad.

The food and drinks were good but the service was slow. My friend was a little late so I asked for some nuts with my beer while I waited but I was told by the waiter that nuts are only available at the bar. This is terrible service as my bill came to chf 220 in addition another waiter forgot my order even though we waited half an hour to make it The service was slow and not attentive. Frankly I am not impressed and I have already posted a negative review on google

Disappointing

We went a couple times before COVID and it was lovely – great ambiance, good cocktails. We went again last Friday as a reunion with old friends from ETH and it was more than disappointing – awfully cold staff, lack of respect and consideration (ever heard of kindness towards the client? No?). We waited >30 min to be seated, the manager at some point told us we could not seat where we had been assigned to, with no niceness or consideration whatsoever – like it was our fault – and thereafter the staff acted constantly pissed and disrespectful. Not to be rude, but treating recent 25-year-old graduates and professionals (plus, some happen to be Swiss and therefore staying in the long term) who are living in Zurich and starting a professional life here might not be the best strategy to play. Your loss. We're going to the next cocktail bar, you're not.

Would I go back? - Maybe

I had made Reservation well in advance and were promptly seated upon arrival. We were offered Cocktail Card and Food menu. Mine was the easy one, Negroni, which is served on every street corner in Zurich. My wife asked for an Old Fashioned, to which the waiter replied “please go ask at the bar. I don’t think they can make that one…” My wife settled for a drink off the house list. Our service was a little slow to the extend the MD had to help out the section. Food: Orders the Chef’s Omakase Appetizer which was a nice combo of three smaller taster appetizers. After that, we had a Tomahawk for two, which was tasty but nothing else to write about. Would I go back? Maybe…

Great experience at the LoftFive for the New Year event in 2021. We went there as a family (4 adults & 2 teenies). The team is super customer oriented, professional and responsive to any requests you might have. Food was excellent and of great quality, as well as wine and drinks served. The evening was simply great and I can only recommend the place.

Invited to leave the table 1 min after paying and tipping

Environment is nice. Food is okay. Sevice is impolite. Once you paid and gave them a tip, they do not care about you anymore. While we put on our jackets, they told us that people are already waiting for the table (despite we reserved the table for the evening)…. in addition while getting ready to leave the started preparing the table.

Located in the very heart if the city center, only 5 mins from the main train station . The place is very modern yet classy looking with covid precations. I was surprise that they have enough guest during lunch time. They also have a lounge for *after work drinks* Food price is ok service is good. Food recommendations Tartare and there Burger. Overall worth recommending.

Nice Saturday breakfast!

We stopped but at Loft Five for Saturday brunch. We didn’t have a reservation so we were seated by the window yet it was really nice and cozy. The decor is overall very special and the vibes are great. We enjoyed our eggs and the coffee quality was great. It was a bit pricey for what it was but that’s something you get used to in Zurich. Staff were friendly and polite and we were served relatively fast. Overall a very positive experience.

Bar recommended but not the restaurant

Unfriendly service, errors with the check that we had to pay even though it was not our fault. “Pushed” us out of the table into the bar once we finished eating. Food ok, service fast. Do not recommend restaurant but would recommend the bar, great attentive service!

Good place to go

Very nice restaurant with good menu of food. Menu is offering not too many choices but still enough for everyone’s wishes. Fact menu is not extensive is reason for good quality we tasted. Recommend the rib eye on the menu. Service was good as well.
