We had the pleasure of having lunch in this charming cafe. Our waitress was lovely. It was definitely the best Swiss hot chocolate I've ever had. Hold on. It was definitely the best hot chocolate I've had in my life. The croissant and baked goods were delicious. My husband also has eggs to order and they were cooked perfectly. This... More

Extensive menu not in English and server not inclined to assist or suggest a selection. My past experience is that these "rated" cafes/tea rooms are overrated and disappointing.

Always very full, the hot chocolate was warm and far too bitter despite the cream, the décor is beautiful but you can't really appreciate with all the people. It really feels like a go in and get out kind of place, there is no cosiness here which you'd expect/hope for when you're having a nice warm drink in Zurich. AND,... More

An amazing place to stop and have a coffee and cake. I doubt that they have changed the decor in 200 years and it's like visiting a time long ago. The coffee is great and the selection of pastries sensational, a must see as it's just around the corner from Grossmunster church.

Magnificent décor – I love the red Louis style salon. Sit, relax, order a drink and go downstairs choose your favorite pastry. The service is very friendly. Small inner terrace for the warm days. Amazing Christmas decoration. Yes it is touristic and it is also highly appreciated by the Zurich locals.

I had read reviews and was really looking forward to this place. I found the counter staff to be very rude and unfriendly. I speak no German and they spoke perfect English, but still seemed irritated by my lack of German. Come on, I was being very polite and really wanted to enjoy your shop, so be nice back. The... Amazing cake offers. We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon on the terrace with our kids. They loved it. The cakes are really good and the offer a big choice. Nice staff too

We made Cafe Schober our first stop on a lovely summer day in Zurich. Most of the travelers' reviews have it right. The food and hot chocolate are good quality and patio is lovely, if a bit cramped and subject to assault by traveling minstrels, who may or may not be one's idea of ambience. For us, we found it... This is a traditional old cafe and serves a wonderful array of pastries and savouries and first-class coffee. We sat outside on the terrace and watched the world go by surrounded by gorgeous buildings.
