We stayed here for a dinner with the whole family shortly before Christmas. The place was very crowded but somehow we managed to get a small table at the bar. We ordered Hamburger (they say this is the best in town) and sandwiches. The food was really good, the Gin Tonic excellent. Nice place with some history about the interior.... More

Ate here with my son at lunchtime. We had their hamburger and club sandwich. Quite good, juicy meat, possibly not all beef, sandwich a bit soggy. The pub was once in Dublin and owners UBS dismantled it when the building was due for demolition and rebuilt it in the centre of Zurich. Service is good. I drink here regularly, some... More

We arrived here following some of Tripadvisor's reviews, and a bit tired of paying the very expensive Zurich prices. James Joyce Pub offers super high quality hamburgers, with some of the the best meat I've ever had in Europe. Prices are reasonable and even a bit cheap for Zurich's standards, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. This is... More

Open late, good fun and a proper pub. Didn't eat there but the Stella and Guinness was fine. Located close to the all night casino so slightly dangerous..

Pretty bar, centrally located in Zurich. Suit and tie crowd, mainly. Always takes a while to get drinks here - staff very absorbed with thing, however customer focus lacking. Don't even think about having a quick meal here - first you will need to get hold of a menu, then you will need to order (read: wait for waitstaff), then... More

Me and a friend of mine found this lovely place on an early Monday evening this week and we were absolutely delighted by the James Joyce. The restaurant got a stylish irish ambiance with a lovely and big terrace. We've had a light dinner with an excellent bottle of Prosecco. The staff along with the Manager were nice, helpful and... We were recommended to visit this Bar Restaurant by a local friend. We popped in last week for a quick drink, to see St Patrick's Day festivities advertised and 'coming soon'. What I really loved about this place is the Victorian interior; originally from the Jury Hotel’s in Dublin, which was brought over to Zurich (where Joyce once lived and... More

The booths are comfy, the service is decent, the beer cold and the food was surprisingly good. I've had the beef tartare there before and it was very good once again. If there's one critique, it's that their spicy isn't that spicy (as is often the case in Switzerland!). My wife had the prawns in tomato sauce and pasta. She... More

We went here for a pre dinner drink and I wish we could have stayed longer. I was fascinated but he fact the every nut and bolt had been moved over from the original venue in Dublin! The staff were lovely and the food that was being served to other guests looked wonderful.

The bank across the street that owns the pub has invested quite some money for the interior. Unfortunately the rest is average: service quality, food, outside seating are not worth a visit. Prices on upper Zurich level. Fun factor way below a "traditional" Irish place.
