This restUrNt was recommended by our hotel concierge and did not disappoint! We went on Monday, which is rib night. You get three different flavors of ribs and delicious wedge fries. My husband was very happy. I got a hamburger with fried onions which came with hash brown sticks, like French fries. Those were incredible. It was all good.

Old fashioned semi- private leather upholstered booths are adjacent to a very fine, longish bar .. add friendly service & decent drinks at fair prices ..what more do you want?
I want a place that’s got atmosphere- but isn’t too noisy !
This is it!
Our Negroni orders were mixed well enough ..but try as we did ..we couldn’t convince the bartender to use enough ice ..& truth be told they actually should not have been‘chips ‘ used at all …but old fashioned blocks !
It’s only a quibble some might opine - but we Negroni Accionados know what is what here..& this cocktail should definitely have lottsa big ice that does not melt quickly, as it’s foundation.
Pity.
So it’s a qualified recommendation only.

I was definitely delighted returning here for another of their splendid Negroni Cocktails..& my companion’s Hendricks Gin & tonic with specially requested cucumber garnish proved a knockout
.
It’s flattering to be remembered - & the friendliness here is a genuine treat in a country where you’re sadly short changed often in that department.
Do try it - no music -just the sound of conversation & good times !

While the name is James Joyce it’s about the only thing that’s Irish about this place. Despite being quiet staff were slow to serve at the bar and later when we sat away from the bar as they were in discussions with what were obviously regular punters. Was appalled when one member of staff picked up a customers dog and cuddled and actually kissed it. Then picked up glasses, left them behind the bar, went into what appears to be the food area and immediately came out chewing food, I presume, and the served drink behind the bar. No washing of hand that we could see.. Needless to say we didn’t have any further drink and left. Thankfully we didn’t have food.

Not just like a regular pub. The service is outstanding and the kitchen makes every visit a great experience.
Even for me as celiac, I always have great memories from their food they used to have an Irish stew that was awesome and GF.
Last night I tried the mussroom soup, it was delicious and completely GF too, as main I had the stake tartar served with a side salad and GF bread.
The great selection of wines and whiskeys also give don't disappoint at all.
Definitely a special Pub to visit. Specially for a date night out, or to enjoy some time with friends.

It is my first time trying out this restaurant and I was not just surprised by the good food, but also by the nice interior and the lovely service. We tried the burger and the club sandwich. Both dishes were excellent - and believe me, it is not easy to get a proper burger in Zurich. I will definitely come back.

We loved the atmosphere of this beautiful pub, the food and especially the friendly staff. What more is there to say. It’s an easy stop for a relaxing drink or meal after shopping or work since it’s located in the center of Zürich.

Been going there several times for after work drinks with friends. Feels like a historic pub, yet it was set up only a few decades ago, with the nearby bankers as target customers. Nice staff, good drinks, quiet, good food to share, makes it a perfect place to spend time with friends.

Great atmosphere coupled with friendly staff. The private dining room is excellent (in the cellar surrounded by bottles of wine). Food is excellent and it also has a good wine list.

Very nice interior, great atmosphere, lovely service, and the food is just delicious here - art on a plate! I tried ravioli as well as hamburger, and I can only recommend - very fresh and tasty. The new chef Slavka and her team - thank you, well done!

Even if the atmosphere is too high stand to be called an irish pub, this place offers one of the best burgers in town. Furthermore, the beer choice is really good as well!
