This restUrNt was recommended by our hotel concierge and did not disappoint! We went on Monday, which is rib night. You get three different flavors of ribs and delicious wedge fries. My husband was very happy. I got a hamburger with fried onions which came...with hash brown sticks, like French fries. Those were incredible. It was all good.More

Great atmosphere coupled with friendly staff. The private dining room is excellent (in the cellar surrounded by bottles of wine). Food is excellent and it also has a good wine list.

Very nice interior, great atmosphere, lovely service, and the food is just delicious here - art on a plate! I tried ravioli as well as hamburger, and I can only recommend - very fresh and tasty. The new chef Slavka and her team - thank...you, well done!More

It is my first time trying out this restaurant and I was not just surprised by the good food, but also by the nice interior and the lovely service. We tried the burger and the club sandwich. Both dishes were excellent - and believe me,...it is not easy to get a proper burger in Zurich. I will definitely come back.More

Even if the atmosphere is too high stand to be called an irish pub, this place offers one of the best burgers in town. Furthermore, the beer choice is really good as well!

While the name is James Joyce it’s about the only thing that’s Irish about this place. Despite being quiet staff were slow to serve at the bar and later when we sat away from the bar as they were in discussions with what were obviously...regular punters. Was appalled when one member of staff picked up a customers dog and cuddled and actually kissed it. Then picked up glasses, left them behind the bar, went into what appears to be the food area and immediately came out chewing food, I presume, and the served drink behind the bar. No washing of hand that we could see.. Needless to say we didn’t have any further drink and left. Thankfully we didn’t have food.More

Walked 20 minutes to get here having searched for bars that were open only to find that the whole place is closed due to a private party!! The staff didn’t give a damn! Rude and uninviting. I won’t ever go back!!

This was not an inviting experience. Maybe we were there on an off day but the staff were inattentive and snarky to point of outright rudeness. Though the whiskey choices were decent, the beer selection was sub par. And it's extremely expensive. 4 euro more...for the exact size of the same beverage as it is anywhere else. Couldn't tell you about food options because we were never offered any ( a menu was requested but never produced) and we chose to leave as soon as our drink was done.More

So I was winding down my trip to Zurich and picked the James Joyce for my last dinner. The service was prompt and very helpful. The beer, although not a tremendous draft selection, I tried and enjoyed the unfiltered beer. I ordered a James Joyce...burger with no egg but add the cheese and onion bits. The burger came on an onion roll and although it didn’t look immense I had trouble getting my mouth around to get a bite. I don’t know if it is the best burger in Zurich - but it was reallllllly good. All I needed was a little more catsup and I wish I could have ordered how the burger was cooked (they serve it cooked through). Price was high - it’s in Zurich!More

Another quirky place that has imported the fun and flurry of Dublin with the writer s pub in Zurich. Great laugh.

Name (of course) brought us to the bar, but the reality was pretty empty at 9pm on Saturday night. Two girls behind the bar and a few regulars. Big empty space with not a lot going on. Was never offered a food menu - so...not sure what was available. Had a beer and cocktail, cocktail was average. Beer selection (on tap) sub-average. Not sure how the history of this place ties into Joyce (if at all). Not a lot of fun, but then we were tired from traveling.More

Not cheap but this is Zürich and the JJ is worth it. Wonderful atmosphere, lots of space, truly brilliant staff and great food. When I want to relax and enjoy the ambience, I go to the James Joyce. Never been disappointed.

antastic! Great food, drinks, big whiskey selection. Nice atmosphere and a stylish decor. Very good location. It’s one of my favs in Zurich. Had dinner there last night and the waiter didn’t take order for ages (usually straight away). We got everything for free and...he was very nice and apologetic. Absolutely fabulous!! Will be back very soon!More
