Although the restaurant in located within a business center as a glassy inner space, the interior is cosy and welcoming. The staff was super-friendly and humorous, but attentive and professional. The meat was really- fantastic, while the winelist got me also positively impressed. Not the...cheapest place, but worth it for sure!More
This restaurant is quite hidden, but this is the go-to address if you want to eat meat in Zug. The beef filet is excellent. The service is good and friendly. When it comes to the bill, it’s not cheap, but nothing’s cheap in Switzerland when...you want quality.More
We only had burgers and they were delicious. Definitely will come back for a steak. The staff was very friendly and professional.
What difference a year makes. I went back to Meating after a good 13 months, but the experience was worlds apart. First, the service…. We were looked after by Nicolas, if you can get assigned to his table… do, you won’t regret it. Te service...was super friendly, the kind you get in the States, not particularly in Switzerland. He recommended the house wines, offered some good choices, and even accepted graciously when he made a mistake. It didn’t stop there though, he was constantly making sure we were looked after and we were happy with our meal. The food was great, I had a 250g ribeye steak medium rare cooked to perfection, and judging by the size of it, it is probably what they gave me last year instead of the 350g I ordered. The wine was great, the meat was spectacular and the service was amazing… I can now fully recommend the place to anyone. Why did I not give it 5 stars you wonder? Because it doesn’t have a cigar lounge. Meat and cigars are an important combo, and I was celebrating with my mate the birth of his son, which involved fat cigars and scotch after dinner, but we had to leave early, walk in the freezing cold to a cigar lounge and take our business there. If Meating just had the vision of putting up a little glass wall around a couple of tables, and offering the patrons a chance to have a post dinner cigar, it would impact positively in their business. I for sure would go there more often.More
A very pleasant evening sat outside here . We shared a garlic bread to start and that was delicious. Like proper Welsh rarebit. After that we both went for 250g ribeye, with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. All very good. Decent bottle of wine too....Service was great and friendly. A Dane man and Hungarian woman. Sorry didn’t take names !More
awesome food, nice and friendly staff with awesome burgers, fries, sauces, sidedishes and much more. perfectly located near trainstation
This is in an odd location, inside an office block, so not so visible from the street. Nice decor, good choice of meats, good service. Pricey, but hey it's a steakhouse in Switzerland. It is very near the station, so easy to catch a cab...home. No great views or atmosphere, so not a place I'd go out of my way forMore
A few years ago, I wrote my review titled "Don't go there for lunch", my newest review should be called "Don't go there for dinner either", but I have good reasons for the title. Read on... The place is nice, the service is good. But...the meat.... THE MEAT!!!! (which is the only reason for which you would go to a steakhouse) leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a 350g ribeye steak medium rare. Normally this would be an amazing meal, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The steak wasn't 350 grams. I eat ribeyes on a regular basis, and I can pretty much tell the weight by the look of it, how long it takes me to eat it, and how full I feel afterwards. By my own calculations this steak was nowhere close to 350g, it was somewhere in the 250-280g range. And it was medium, not medium rare. For a Fr. 66 steak, I was really disappointed. It took me 4 years to return, I hope you learn from my mistakes and avoid an unpleasant experience. But, if you insist on going, bring a scale... just in caseMore
Had an absolute delicious beef tartare starter followed by a superb Swiss grass fed rib eye steak. Sides were good. Wine was good and staff friendly. Will inevitably return
Lovely red wine, perfect steaks (go for medium-well) and great service. Centrally located, but on a quiet road.
Showing up without an reservation ended in having a seat at the bar, enjoying the funny bantering and the great service of the bar crew. Additionally I had the privilege to closely watch steaks being prepared. Beef, Bison or Horse and many other options in...a number of different sizes are on the table. And they are prepared to perfection.. And the sides are interesting and delicious as well. Combine that with good beers and other drinks, and you have a very enjoyable evening. I ate one of the best steaks here - admittedly with quite a price tag attached, but let's be real - this is Switzerland.More
Nice place to have lunch. Possibility to eat in-or outside, at least in the summer month. It is in the direct vicinity of many office buildings and always very crowded for lunch time. The good is good, but in my opinion, for just having lunch,...it is too expensive.More
Meating is creative starting with the “brand”. And it only gets better. The menu is uncomplicated and very attractive with seasonal options. The spinach soup and the pork fillet are exquisite. Service is Swiss Efficiency standard. Please make sure you have always a Menu in...English ready for the clients. Congratulations.More
Great place if you like grilled meat. I believe the menu changes based on availability. Lots of asparagus options on the menu this week. I had the grilled bone in pork chop and it was cooked perfectly. For starters l, has the asparagus soup which...was very good. Others had the lamb, fish and beef and all were very good. Nice atmosphere part bar and part restaurant. Reasonable beer selection and we had a couple local options. It was mostly empty at 6 but by 7:30 almost full so plan ahead.More
