My wife and had to pop down to the Flon area of Lausanne to carry out her biometric testing for her work permit this morning. It was a grey and miserable November day and we fancied a coffee afterwards at the Cipriano Cafe. It looked...like a standard cafe from the outside. We promptly sat down inside and waited quite some time to get served, despite the fact there were 3 waiting staff on duty who seemed to be loitering around behind the bar. Eventually the waitress came over and we ordered two Cafe lattes. We waited some time before they arrived, despite the fact there was virtually nobody in the cafe. When they arrived they consisted predominantly of steamed milk. Neither of us could taste an ounce of coffee in them and when stirred the luke warm milk infused into the rest off the glass creating an insipid bland, milky excuse for a coffee. We decided it wasn't worth complaining about so we decided to be on our way. The bill came to a total of 15 CHF (7.50 CHF per coffee). I did a double take and said to the waiter "You've gotta be joking?" thinking there was clearly a mistake. He answered "No I'm afraid not" and then proceeded to say "Welcome to Lausanne. We make the most expensive Cafe latte in the Flon" like it was something to be proud of. I was absolutely gobsmacked and in total disbelief. This is not a 5-star hotel or the Ritz in London - it's a simple cafe in an artsy area of town. I hasten to say we will not be going back and recommend to anybody to give this place a huge body swerve. The staff were slow, the coffee was foul and the price absolutely outrageous. Do not waste your money here!More

We had a wonderful afternoon at Cipriano. Alex is a great waiter, and he gave us one of the best services in the past 21 years in Switzerland with my mom and husband 💕

Terrible food, unfriendly service, terrace full of smokers (non smoking area inexistant), expensive and slow. Location is what is saving them. My advice don’t go even if it seems convenient

Their cocktail list and gin&tonics are some of the best in Lausanne. Great food at lunch at dinner too. Nice ambiance, and the service is impeccable. We were served by *Darling* who went out of her to make sure we got some good food (even...after their kitchen was closed!)More

We had such a nice, relax evening here with friends. The food was good, great atmosphere and the waiter, Alex, was so attentive and friendly that it made it such a pleasant experience. I wish more people were this customer friendly. Thank you. We will...be back soonMore

We stopped there as their menu offered easy things such as piadine, crostini, salads etc ... we ended up waiting 50 min, the service is disorganized as cafe wasn’t even full. Piadine wasn’t nice, there was so much ham inside it was like a block...and so salted. It wasn’t worth the money and the time we spent waiting. Won’t return.More

We visited here this saturday after a couple months and it seems the entire management has changed. We are long time patrons. Yesterday we visited your establishment and will never return, as well as warning our friends never to come. I have a serious intestinal...inflammatory condition called Crohn's Disease. I cannot eat any food with oil on it, because it slows down the digestion and inflames my intestine. I do not expect them to understand this, but I don't expect them to shame or punish me for this either. I asked for my husbands and my meals to be without oil. We received the cipriano charcuterie and cheese plate with oil and when we sent it back, the chef yelled at the waitress. This is really unacceptable. Then my husband got his platter without oil, but without the fourth expensive meat and non of the nuts or garnitures. Their mistake and inability to listen is not our problem when we are paying very good money to eat here. Also, as if to punish for the next mistake of my salmon (anna grimaud salad?) salad being made first with balsamic vinaigrette, the chef left off the most expensive ingredient; the salmon eggs/caviar. Therefore, I paid 30 francs for a salad that was 3 pieces of low quality norwegian smoked salmon, 4 cherry tomatoes, and about a teaspoon of salmon eggs after I asked for them (and i can't even eat the greens). That is outrageous! I cannot believe you can run a successful business like this, and all you have to do is look at their google maps rating to see that it has dropped severely. Finally, their bathrooms were unacceptably filthy. The floors were dirty, the toilet is broken, and there is literally poop on the seats. I think this is a severe problem for retaining guests.More

In Lausanne for a week,I have stopped in each day, for a spritz, for wine, for tuna bruschetta, all perfect .... but their vitello tonnato is beyond compare! Too much for me to eat!

Nice place for a glass of wine, bruschetta and piadina listening to lounge music. Located in the center of the lively “Quartier du Flon”. Food was good. Wines we tasted were fine without being exceptional. Manager showed attention. Waitress could show a bit more of...sincere attention, but it was ok. Unfortunately kitchen were closed at 11:25pm when we intended to orders some more padinas.More

We are visiting Australians, looking to taste local goods and wine. Fanny helped us with Spanish and Italian wine selections to accompany a platter of meats and cheese with bread to accompany. The service was great. We really enjoyed eating "local" produce in a casual...location with a warm buzzing atmosphere. There are some great desserts too.More
